Default More details on the 2.7 ecoboost (No power numbers though)

Found an article on the 2.7 ecoboost, it gives some more details about the engine. Not much info but more than I have seen anywhere else. No hp or torque numbers unfortunately.

I read somewhere start/stop will be defeatable via button/menu option.. It also won't activate in 4x4 or when towing.

Heck, now that I read this article, it says the same thing I just said. What's with all the negativity? Ford knows what they are doing with this truck.

The start/stop tech used in the Fusion has been highly praised, even superior to those offered by premium makes such as BMW. I would expect no less from the same tech in the F150.

Okay, found where I saw the start/stop info...Scroll down to What Engines & Transmissions are Available, and you'll see the following under the 2.7L.

  • An all-new 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 slots in above. Power and torque figures have not been revealed, but output is said to "exceed that of other mid-level truck V8 engines." This twin-turbo engine will also have an automatic start-stop system to save even more fuel when the truck is stationary. The system will automatically disengage in 4x4 mode or when a trailer is in tow, and there will also be an off switch. This engine is destined to be a volume seller with excellent fuel economy.

That's great! I always prefer choice when available.
