The 2017 max tow now includes the 36 gallon tank. I edited my OP to indicate that, I was speaking about 17s as the 16s are no longer made and the dealers don't order them. The screen shot I took was from a 2017.

I have the heavy duty tow package w/trailer brake controller and there such a hug difference compared to a friends nearly identical 2016 F150 except with 20's and w/o the heavy duty tow pkg.
Mine tows everything over 3000 lbs, SO much steadier and smoother.
definitely worth the little extra for it!

This is correct, I have the 2016 with Max Tow and had to look around for one with the 36 Gallon tank, I think it was a $395 option.

Max tow and the 36 gallon take were separate options in 2015 (and 2016). Early on in the 2015's the 36 gallon tank was only $195 and then it increased to $395.

And on my 2006 it was $95....thought it was a bit more reasonable then, but I wouldn't get a truck without it.

My 2011 with the max tow package only came with the 26 gallon tank. It must of been a separate option to upgrade to the 35 gallon tank

Who cares.. Your payload limits your tow capacity... You can't tow anywhere near what the marketing propaganda says.
