Default Looking at 15 Lariat but...

While looking it's hard for me to justify the lariat price when the xlt's have so many rebates.

Doing my search I found this: http://www.kriegerford.com/new/Ford/2014-Ford-F-150-7dc15fb00a0a0049315ffdd02419b0f5.htm?searchDepth=2 3:56

What are your guy's thoughts on this?

My thoughts are if you are going to spend that much money get the one you want (within your budget) or you will regret it later.

I agree. I got the Lariat because I felt that I needed air conditioned seats. I don't need them, but I could afford them and this will be my last large purchase for a while so I got what I wanted. It also came with other little enhancements that I like.

Years & Years ago when I ordered my first new car I didn't get it with power windows or locks. It would have only been another $300 MSRP... How dumb was that? I've never done crap like that again. I get what I want because in the grand scheme of things it's not THAT much when you're already spending a bunch.

But, it's up to you!

Seems pretty expensive for a 2014. I plan on paying that much for a loaded up 2015 Screw XLT 4x4.

For that price it should be a supercrew.

I paid less than that for a 2015 screw, xlt w 302a, fx4, v8. You can do better. While it may seem nuts, buy a truck down here in Texas, and drive it home. You'll save money, have a vacation, and break it in. Everybody wins.

I had the same temptation and reached the same point . . . get the truck you want especially if you plan to keep it a long time. Once I got there, the XLT wasn't what I wanted, so it was out.

I struggled with whether to go with 2.7L in 501A or get the 3.5L in 502A. If I could have gotten 2.7L 502A, I would have done. But I like owning the 2.7, and none of the 502A features were on my gotta-have-it list. I could afford 502A, but I didn't really find it to be the step-up that I felt going from XLT to Lariat.

Your choice man . . .but if you want Lariat, you won't care about the extra cash in a few years.

Thanks for all the replies. I can afford the Lariat it's just the whole "$50k for a damn truck!" is all. I tend to agree with you guys that I should get what I want and if I don't I'll just end up being disappointed.

I bought my last one in Ohio at Fairway Ford but had issues with them after purchasing it.
