Question Lifted Truck with Active Park Assist

Hi everyone, new to the forum...

I'm looking to purchase a new 2015 Platinum SCREW and putting on a 4" lift. However, I'm wondering if the lift and larger tires will affect the active park assist sensors and the truck's ability to accurately "park itself" since the sensors will effectively be higher and the tires wider. Has anyone tested this or had any issues after their lift?

Also, does anyone have a 4" lift and 35" tires and still able to park inside a standard 7 ft garage? I've done some measurements and it seems like it would be a VERY close fit!

Thanks!

I'll test it out.

Adaptive steering and cruse works just fine.

Thanks srg963! BTW, your truck looks awesome! That's the look I'm going for. Have you tried to pull it into a 7 ft garage opening? I figure I'll have to go with a 5-1/2 ft bed to get it to fit into the garage length-wise.

Thanks! It turned out exactly as I wanted.

No attempts into the garage due to height, and yes, it's too long for my garage.

I have to jump and grab the underside hood latch to close the hood lol. Any higher and I'd need a ladder.

Did you try Park Assist yet? Mine is leveled with 285/65x20 BFG and the only time I tried PA, I took over as I felt I was about to either hit the car in front of me or curb the rear wheel. It was a tight spot downtown Memphis, but the PA "found" the spot and indicated all was well. I also had a buddy get out and spot for me.

Edit - I just found a video on youtube that explains the PA feature in detail and the system uses the Wheel Speed Sensor to determine the length of the parking spot. So, with bigger tires it would throw off the measurement by the same percentage in tire size difference. In my case, that's about 7%, which makes sense. Hopefully once the dealer can recalibrate the tire size, it will fix this issue.

Still curious to see your PA results.

I've not had a chance to test mine out...not very many parallel parking places around.

I know where I can go experiment, hopefully things turn out well.

Ok, finally got around to testing this out this past weekend. It's a little off, but nothing major. Doesn't get close to other cars, just a little close to the curb that your parking against. I was able to pull forward just a little to straighten it out, then reversed to get into the spot.

Guys, thanks for your replies. I picked mine up a few weeks ago and have a 6" lift with 35" tires. I found the same thing as srg963. As I back into the parking space, the rear tire hits the curb a bit early, however I can pull forward and straighten in out with no issues. Mine is also calibrated with the larger tires, so the calibration doesn't correct it 100%, but it's still usable.

I have a 6 inch with 35s and it's just under 7 feet guys in my garage by about an inch and a half. Had to get a shorter antenna as the first attempt it poked a hole in the inside of my garage door! Otherwise no issues with the garage, even with the standard mirrors not folded in

Unfortunately, I'm about 1.5" too high to fit into my garage. It's a 7 ft door, but the garage floor has a small lip on it at the entrance. Even without the lip, I'd probably still be an inch or so too high to fit. Needless to say, the wife isn't too happy...
