As I backed up earlier tonight, I noticed that the backup camera picked up the stock license plate lights as pretty bright. I was thinking about putting some LEDs in there and was wondering if would affect the image from the backup camera. Anyone?
I have the factory LED lighting package and was thinking about upgrading the driving lights, the backup lights, and the license plate lights to match!!
Also, are Ford's CANBUS? That is, will an LED throw a bulb out warning? My Ram did that all the time and it was a pain to find bulbs that were compatible!!
I have the same ones mentioned above, and honestly when it comes to how they look on the camera I don't see much of a difference just a hair whiter. It sure does clean up the look at night though I don't know why ford just didn't match the rest of the LED's on these trucks. I say go for it you wont be disappointed.
I used similar ones also from Sylvania. Looks much better and you can barely see them in the camera. What helps mine is the tailgate applique from the chrome pkg. It blocks most of the glare. Nice! Also did the Morimoto LED fogs so the entire truck is LED now.
Hehehehe here are my genius redneck skill to solved the glares from the LED license plate bulbs. What I did was got those free Rollens sunglasses from the Doctor's office. I cut it to size the license bulb lens. Voila anti-glare done. I got those JDM LED bright as fudge bulbs for my license plate.
