I know I want an extended cab with leather seats. I know I hate wood trim. So far the Lariat is the only trim level that offers an extended cab with leather seats. Is there any way to get around the wood trim? Am I missing something like the sport package? I do not want a super crew or I would just go for a Platinum at this point. Considering just picking up a 2014 fx4, but really I am in no hurry. I guess I'm going to be playing the waiting game and hoping Ford re-releases something like the fx4 trim, or just extend the optional leather to the XLT trim. First world problems right?

Update. Sport package is the cure. Could have gone without the change in the wheels or the blacked out grill but it appears to offer an alternate interior free of wood trim. I guess I should have looked harder before making a post. "Rolls eyes at his own stupidity".

You can always buy the trim pieces & switch out what you don't like

FWIW, the wood trim is one of the reasons that I optioned up to a Lariat! It looks soo classy especially with black leather. Wood and leather, (well even fake wood) are automotive icons, they go well together!

I was in the same boat as you. For sure the Lariat sport doesn't have wood trim. Drop me a PM if you can't find pics and I'll send you some of the interior on mine.
