At the dealer today to get my tailgatge fixed because it just slams down when you hit the button on the remote. Not the nice smoot lowering motion it is supposed to have. This was first noticed on Thursday when I was doing my delivery inspection. This morning the service manager tried telling me this truck does not include the remote release and tried to send me on my way. I have been here for 6 hours trying to educate the dealership on their own product, and I am beyond frustrated. Dealership Customer Relations Manager is now involved as well as Ford Field Service Engineer.

The dealer has the tailgate opened up and it is missing the mechanism completely! Looks like QC missed a HUGE one here. They dealer is currently trying to figure out what to do. Anybody else experience the same issue with the remote release tailgate?

Where did you see that comes with the Lariat 502a package? I thought that was an option on the Platinum trim. (not sure about KR)

Order guide, Ford website and Ford Customer Service. It also shows on ETIS when searching my VIN.

Yea, I see it on the build website but wasn't sure if only certain trims where 'damped'. I would think they all are of course..

I would hope the dampener is part of the remote tailgate and not another add on. That would be a big negative if that's the case.

It is definitely included. Without the dampener the tailgate poses a serious safety hazard. I could just see one of my kids hitting the button on the remote and then getting smashed in the head by the slamming tailgate.

the remote release has the damper as part of that equipment.
your dealer is not being very EDUCATED...
