Default Lane Keeping System - Just Broke?

Took the truck to Sams for some office supplies, everything was fine, even the seat coolers were working better than normal. Got in after work, hopped on the freeway, and noticed a burning smell that lasted awhile. I had my window cracked so I decided to roll up the window and put the AC on recycle / recirculate, and that seemed to help with the smell... but at the same time I noticed my lane keeping system was off. There are no CELs, and the system lights are no longer on the dash. Guess it's off to the dealership. ... I think I jinxed myself in that other thread

Hmm... I wonder if the "burning smell that lasted a while" might be dragging pads on one or more disks, due to (or causing) the flagged brake system malfunction. Some things are obnoxiously connected... while you'd think lane-keeping only needs steering control, it may be programmed to shut off if certain other systems are flagged. My car (Subaru) does this sort of thing... anything that lights the check-engine light disables the cruise control.

Brakes are working fine, still driving normal. Steering does feel lighter though.

Anyone know of the fuse I can check?

And awhile is a mile or a minute.

Damn, now I have to steer around corners and crap....like I'm driving a 2014 Platinum. ..jeez lol

I take by the lack of replies, that I'm the first to have this issue?

Searched the manual, couldn't find any fuses related to the LKS.

Scheduled appointment today at 1 for some answers.

Let me know what happened so I can do it to mine.. I would love to have the steering become lighter.

To put a close to this one, we're not sure what happened. I ran another diagnostic report the following morning, and everything checked out. Had the dealership take a look anyways, since the fault was possibly brake related.

All good, move along, nothing to see here lol

Someone else reported similar issues not sure which thread, but his Ford report card read same, brake problems, yet his worked fine or so he thought and like you had a burning smell. May have been thread, truck died after 200 miles or something to that effect. Sorry couldn't be of more help. Perhaps if you do a forum search may help.
