King Ranch leather

Ain't that the truth. I feel bad for my daughter, she's freakin' tiny at 5 years old. She won't be 80lbs and allowed to get out of the booster until she's in high school.
I use a towel underneath the car seat. It seems to work pretty well for when I take out the car seat the imprint from the car seat is not as noticeable.

Haha my niece is in that same boat. Luckily the law only applies to kids younger than eight years old so she'll be out of that thing in no time.

The KR leather and care is specifically mentioned apart from other vehicle leather products at www.leathermagic.com/Pages/determineAutolthr.htm.

In Texas its: 7 years and younger and less than 57 inches require a child seat.

For starters, these child seat laws seem to blow my mind because one way or another, the government is telling you what to do. I understand safety and the like but seriously. How many of yall drank from the garden hose and lived to tell the tale? Rant over.
To answer the original question, King Ranch leather is ver much the same leather used to make horse sadles so it is extremely durable but will show its character with time. I use leather cpr on mine and it still feels soft and looks very good. Best part is that the truck is almost 9 years old and some people who get in it think its new because the interior looks so good.

I was going to use a towel to but my wife found some protectors on amazon and they have little pouches at the bottom to store toys or whatever. She felt better having something made just for that purpose...and...happy wife = happy life.

Results:
This analysis indicates that use of child safety seats is
effective in reducing the incidence rates of incapacitating
injuries for the three age groups and in any crash type. The analysis indicates that children involved in rollover crashes had the
highest incidence rates of incapacitating injuries. In rollover crashes, the estimated incidence rate of incapacitating injuries
among unrestrained children was almost three times that for restrained children. In near-side impacts, unrestrained children
were eight times more likely to sustain incapacitating injuries than children restrained in child safety seats.
Head injuries were the most common injuries sustained by children in motor vehicle crashes. Children under 1 year old had
higher incidence rates of head injuries than the other two age groups. Similar to head injuries, children under 1 had higher
incidence rates of thoracic injuries than the other two age groups.
Cerebrum injuries (contusions or lacerations) were the most common type of head injuries among all children included in the
analysis. Concussion and unconsciousness were more common among children under 1 year old than the other two age groups.
Skull base fractures were more common among children 1 to 3 and 4 to 7 years old than children under 1.
Children under 1 were more likely to sustain rib fractures than the other two age groups. On the other hand, lung injuries contusions or lacerations) were more common among older children than children under 1 year old.

Unfortunately, there are some parents that are total idiots in taking care of their kids. This was in our morning paper today, happened last night. No joke.

A teenager is in critical condition after he fell from a skateboard he was riding while holding on to his mother’s car, according to Las Vegas police.
First responders were called to Alta Drive near Norwood Lane, just west of Torrey Pines, about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, police said.
Sherry Ranae Williams-Lamb, 46, was driving a 2009 Nissan sedan while her 15-year-old son clung to the driver’s side door. The teenager lost control and fell, police said. Williams-Lamb rendered aid before medics arrived.
He was taken to University Medical Center with critical injuries, police said.
No arrests were reported and Williams-Lamb was not impaired, police said. The incident remains under investigation by Metro’s traffic fatality unit.

The Ford King Ranch has unique Chaparral Leather seating surfaces.. The leather used in all King Ranch merchandise is Chaparral Leather.
Ford changed the KR leather for 2009 to Chaparral leather, instead of the original Castano leather, probably for the heated/cooled seats.
I clean with water that has a mild detergent in it. Then I use Leather CPR for treatment, excellent stuff. I think there a many good leather treatments out there just make sure they don't have petroleum based chemicals.
