Default King Ranch leather

How does the KR leather compare with the Platinum leather. The owners manual says that it had to be conditioned occasionally.

Traditionally, the KR leather has been higher quality and a full leather, whereas the others are treated, thinner, and not full leather. From my seat time in various 2015s, nothing has changed. The Platinum seats may be nicer than the standard Lariat leather, but IMO the KR leather is the best quality actual leather you can get. Hence having special instructions in the owner's manual, as you mention.

Does the KR leather stain easier than the Platinum leather?

I'm trying to figure this out as well. In general the higher quality the leather, the less durable it'll be. (given equal thickness). But dang is soft and luxurious. My kids (3,1, and one on the way) won't spend much time n my truck so durability isn't that important to me...

I have to disagree. Genuine leather will wear and show scuffs (character!), but is very durable to tears and rips. The cheap stuff will flake, crack, and rip before a true genuine leather product. Just my experience.

It should be for sure, child seats can wreck havoc on leather, and with todays child seat laws your kids will be in at least a booster till there like... eight.

my last two trucks iv put protective mats between the child seats and my leather. when i traded my last truck the leather was fine just had some sunk in spots from the child seats that would pop out over time.

Hmm, how does the KR leather compare to the "rich Corinthian leather" from the days of yore?

Ain't that the truth. I feel bad for my daughter, she's freakin' tiny at 5 years old. She won't be 80lbs and allowed to get out of the booster until she's in high school.

I use a towel underneath the car seat. It seems to work pretty well for when I take out the car seat the imprint from the car seat is not as noticeable.
