Just was wondering about forum members' thoughts on currently ordering a '15 vs waiting until ordering opens up for the '16 model. I've got a '15 that I've just put on order, the dealer says I have no obligation to take it when it comes in - they can sell it on the lot. I know Sync 3 (which will be nice) is coming up on the '16 but I don't know if there is anything else worthwhile (IMHO) on it to delay purchasing. I prefer Tuxedo black vs a nonmetallic black and I'm not crazy about the new appearance package. Are there any other considerations on deciding between ordering a '15 now vs waiting for the '16? What would you do?

Did you order a model with seat coolers?

If so, I'd hold out till Ford had a fix in place.

1. The appearance package is only new for that one particular model. Don't like it, don't order it. Personally, I think it's hideous. The regular Sport and Chrome packages should be the same, unless I missed something.

2. Sync 3 will be nice, but I have no complaints with the current Sync.

3. Do you want the new automatic trailer backup system? If so, better wait for the 2016.

Personally, at this point I would probably wait for the 2016, assuming they'd sell it to you for the same deal (invoice, etc.). Whether I needed the new features or not, they would definitely matter in terms of resale. There's no denying when us with 2015s go to sell our trucks at some point in the future, we'll have to deal with having the few 2015+ trucks with old Sync, no trailer backup, etc. That will probably make it harder for us to sell ours.

If you like tuxedo black and have a few months to spare I would be more interested in getting a *great* price on a leftover 15' model rather then wait for a 16' and pay the premium for really nothing substantial in new additions or features.

It's been said many times before, SYNC 3 will not be available for early 2016 orders. It will roll out late in the 2016 order cycle so that's not a reason to wait unless you want to wait another year. Live in the moment!!!

Sad but true LOL I was being optimistic and hopeful that once the 16's hit the floors the 15's will be discounted more.

Articles that I am seeing say Sync 3 will be in the 2016 F150s.

I work at a dealer and all I have heard is that the 2016's will feature Sync 3. There is no proof anywhere that it will be "late in the year". Sounds like somebody gave that information out trying to sell a '15 or early '16.
