Just thought I'd let u guys in on a little info with the 3.5 ecoboost in 15
Well for one I bought me a 15 supercrew 3.5 ecoboost with the 3.55 gears, well to my point I checked a few dealers did u guys realize when u buy the 3.5 ecoboost u automatically get the 9.75 rear end we're all the others wether it's a 2.7 or a 5.0 even in platlium trim get the 8.8, know I'm sure a heavy payload 5.0 gets the 9.75 but I doubt there is any out there, I just thought it was strange as it did not list that in any of fords info except heavy payload trucks I checked 3 lots and only 3.5 ecoboost trucks got the 9.75 just food for thought

So the HD payload is springs and gear set only in the 3.5eb? That's good to know.

I have read that the 8.8 rear end has 10 bolts and the 9.75 has 12. Not sure if that still holds true but I have a 2.7l Eco and I have 12 bolt. I need to look into it and see if I actually have the 8.8 or 9.75.

The 2.7 with payload package also gets it. Not 3.5 specific. You also get the mechanical parking brake vs the electronic one on the 2.7. Along with the trans cooler and I believe an upgraded radiator. Can't remember exactly from the build specs.

All F-150s with factory tow package come with aux trans coolers. Doesn't matter if its a Base Model 2WD Single Cab XL, MAX Tow 4X4 Supercrew, or even a Raptor they all if equipped with a factory tow package come with the SAME trans cooler. There is only one size!

The question was about what else comes with the payload package NOT towing package, there are many packages with overlapping options; for instance you can order a 3.73 locking rear axle on a 5.0 for $570 but if you order the FX4 package which includes electronic locker, the 3.73 option drops to $150. Suggest one look closely at the order guide for what is included in each package, with each trim level, as things change as you add more options and move between trim levels. What is not listed in the order guides is the heavier frames that are included with some packages-you have to go into detailed dimensions and specs to find that.

I drove a 2.7 with 3.73 gears, without the heavy payload it had a 8.8, so I guess the 9.75 is out there in the other trucks it's just not standerd, also the 8.8 is a good rear end I'm just stating the 9.75 has much bigger bearings, the only bearings that they share from the ones I've worked on is I noticed back in 04-05 the 8.8 got the huge axle bearings like the 9.75, so basically any 3.5 ecoboost truck u buy regardless of rear gears is a 9.75 rear but if u go by the ford info they make it out like u must get heavy payload, another question for u guys any pics of max tow hitches I'm trying to see exactly what's different vs heavy tow I know one says like 11100 vs 12200 I was trying to see the exact difference to see if I wanted to swap it as that's the only thing I'm missing lol as I've got 3.55
