looking for a new f150. been up and down on this thread doing research. im a crappy haggler. all my previous vehicles, ive pretty much been, "yea i like that car...im satisfied with price..where do i sign"
when i bought my new scion tc had no haggle pricing, and the other used vehichles i purchased, only got like $1000 off or something minor. nothing crazy or back n forth.
so i kinda feel out of my element in negotiating. so i did something different(for me), which i was told would be my best/easiest option.
i just emailed the 3 ford dealers in my area, "im shopping around for this truck, with these options, whats the best price out the door."
two of them did not have the exact specs i wanted, and didnt really seem eager to provide me a price unless i stop by. one dealer did.
they wanted me to go down, i refused and asked for the price. they had a sales guy call me later and tell me
47.5k msrp, final price 37.5k, plus ttl, out the door 40.3k.
i haggled a little more.trying to get it to 36k OTD then 38k OTD. dealer didnt really want to budge mutch more than that. was able to get it to 40k even OTD with spray in bedliner.
both kbb and nada had invoice with all options as that truck at around 44.5k. how do i verify that?
this seem decent considering the kbb/nada "invoice" price? but being 4k under invoice just seems off and unrealistic to me. idk.like i said, im a noob at this

The smarter dealers know to give email customers their "best" price right off the bat or they will never see the customer walk in the door. If you can get a small throw in beyond that, you are doing good.
The only thing you could have done better would have been to email the nearest 60 dealers. Think about it. Even if it took you 1 minute per email, you still spent less time than driving to 1 dealer.

Pulled the trigger last night on a new truck. Think I did fine versus the other dealers in the area.

Upgrades:
302A
Sport Package
FX4
36 Gallon Tank
Trailer Tow
LT275/65R18C OWL All Terrain
Integrated Brake Controller
BLIS
MSRP: 51185
Invoice (best I can find since edmunds doesn't allow this config): 45169
Sale Price (before incentives):43235
$6000 in incentives, $75 doc fee
Feels right...

Can someone look up this VIN for invoice price? 1FTFW1EF7GFA66645. Zip Code is 18901.
Window sticker says MSRP is $48,660.
They sent me a price quote with the MSRP as $47,165 and a sale price of $38,674.
I'm looking to find invoice to compare to MNgopher who had:
MSRP 51185
Invoice 45169
Sale Price 43235
Then 6000 in incentives.
His looks like a great deal and I think I have room to get lower.

Yep - $37310 + Tax, before trade in. I'm sleeping allright, I'll put it that way...
Honestly, for the the equipment I got, I couldn't find anything comparable on another dealers lot (other than 1 other in Ruby Red with Navigation on this dealers lot for about 1100 more than the one I bought).
