Default Invoice Question

So I am in the market for a 2015 Ford F-150 Lariat and I went to a Phil Long Ford dealership in Denver. In their invoice they have the following:

- Fuel Charge $99.44
- Advertising Assessment $753.00

That is on top of their dealer fee of $449.

Are these charges legit or is this a fake invoice they are showing me? I have never seen anything like this in any other invoice that I have seen.

I have bought many new cars and it seems like they are trying a fast one. Is there another dealer close?

Yes. I thought I would ask since I have never seen a Ford invoice before so just wanted to make sure.

Another dealership quoted me $10k off sticker and I later found out the $10k included the discounts on the window sticker for the packages.

Not knowing the details $10k off might not be a bad deal.

Yes $10k would be but it ended up being $7700 off sticker since the dealer included the $2300 discount for packages already on the window sticker.

it seemed like a plot to get me in the door.

I agree. Mine, on 7/31/2015, was roughly $47 MSRP to $40. That is with discounts.

I actually walked away from Phil Long because of the advertising assessment. We actually put in the order for my new truck but it was not until the next day they sprung that advertising assessment fee on us. Long story but I felt they hid it. They claimed this is a Ford fee is there is nothing they can do about it. It left enough of a bad taste in my mouth I never went back again. Ended up buying from Freeway Ford. They were not perfect either but were more upfront.

It's all BS and the charges vary. I've seen "Doc Fees" as low as $99 and as high as $1,095. Another one I noticed is something like $10,000 off MSRP*

*Destination not included.

It's all a shell game.

The 2015 Lariat I ordered looks like this.....

MSRP is $53,685 after $1,500 in factory discounts. The dealer offered an additional $7,885 off that and we have $3,000 in rebates. Total price is $42,800 + tax + tag and a $699 doc fee.
