And, keep repeating as necessary, Rick. The message needs to be told since it's a common inquiry.

Thanks a lot! I guess what confuses me a lot is third party website quotes. For example, the well respected COSTCO auto program always give a lower invoice price.

Anyone interested in build and compare with dealer build? Of course for 2015 year so far.

When I tried to use the Costco program, dealers got leads and were supposed to call. Never saw numbers, you don't get anything online.

Trucks are sold year round. XLT models typically receive $8,000 to $12,000 off MSRP, later in model year. If you buy early, in model year you give up that pricing. Just something to keep in mind.

I agree I got $11,000 off MSRP on my 2011 and $12,000 of my 2013. I came close to buying a 2015 XLT FX4 Sport list $50,500 and their first price they threw at me was $10,000 off I did not negotiate any further because I decided I would wait until fall of 2016 to get a heavy discounted 2016.

Those third party sites are estimates to try to help. They're not exact. I've been selling fords for a little over 6 years now and I've gotta say, if someone wants to order a vehicle, the market is too competitive to give an inflated quote. We price them at invoice to maybe $1k over depending on the vehicle. Excluding specialty or low production vehicles.
The simplest thing to do is just send the build specs to a salesperson and have them price it out. Don't send invoice prices or tell them how much holdback there is. They're going to be aggressive. It's really a turn off when a customer thinks they have the invoice and holdback amounts. I always show my customers what the pre-order invoice amount is (excluding rebates).
What ppl don't understand is that "holdback" is built into the invoice to help dealers with costs associated with the vehicle such as filling the tank with gas, having it cleaned before the new owner takes delivery, the pre-delivery inspection, etc.
Don't make it so difficult and you and your salesperson with both have a more pleasant experience.

Hmmm? I just ran a build & price for my 2016 Lincoln MKX through the Costco link you supplied and both the MSRP and Invoice numbers were precisely identical to the official Ford manufacturer-to-dealer invoice...no discrepancy with other online invoice price sources either.

I am glad to hear that. That means my local dealer is quoting me a "adjusted invoice" price instead of the true invoice. Can more people verify that the Costco Builds are accurate in invoice price?
Thanks a lot.

Because my local dealer quoted me a invoice price that is about 1400 dollars more than what COSTCO quoted online for the same build. Even if I factor in fuel charge and advertising fee that was not included in COSTCO's build, it is still around 600 dollars more. So I hope those who already ordered can verify the accuracy of COSTCO builds.
