How about a Nav update now?

If you decide to don't pay $100...it's like $70 on eBay

I also had a talk with Here, and was told that they release updates every 12 to 18 months, yet my 2016 comes with 1 14, which is about 3 years old. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me. (I read that some 2015 have 1 15, but not sure.)
Hopefully Ford and Here can agree on whatever they need to agree on and start releasing new maps.

On another note, my sync 3 was version 1, but I did the update to 2.2 (found out about on a different thread) I now have Android Auto, so that's current maps, but still am not impressed with buying a new truck with old maps

Yes I agree about the new truck with out dated maps. They changed our speed limit here in Wisconsin 2 years ago to 70 on the interstate and my Nav in my 2016 XLT still shows the speed limit to be 65 on screen in the maps!!!!!!!

don't be surprised when it's not correct on the new version

My 16 came with Nav, would never order NAV, but seems like every one I looked at had it. I have a Garmin Nuvi with lifetime map updates, and use it all the time, and since it also has a dashcam built in, it is in my new truck now, so the built in nav will most likely never get used unless I need to use send to car(if that is even still available).
It will be fun to see if the built in Nav is close to the updated Garmin.

I agree we need updated maps but keep this in mind:
Every piece of software you buy, every computer or cell phone you buy, is out of date the day it is sent to manufacture. There are always updates. Some take longer than others, some screw the program/hardware they are supposed to update.
Also any mapping software that requires you to look at your phone opens you to ticketing by police in areas that ban texting or using a phone while driving. And areas with poor or no cell coverage (and there are more than you may think) are virtually worthless for running cell mapping.
Hopefully Ford will update Sync 3 Nav systems (and at a reasonable price, if not free) soon.
