How about a "My Favorite thing about my new truck thread"?

Not really a complaint, but more of a comparison, but the seats are still comfortable, but my seats in the 2011 Lariat were more comfortable.
I'm not a big guy by any means, but front buckets are narrower, the center console is wider, and the seats also are not as cushy, that's probably the biggest difference. But I do like that they raised the console height so its actually usable, and it lines up with the door pad, definitely gives a comfortable place for the elbows.
The cab to me is quieter than the previous, and it rides noticeably better, which I had no problem with either of that in previous model.
And the blinker is quiet, and they finally have the door detents, so when you get out you don't have to hold the door the whole time.
I miss having the little blindspot mirrors, I guess its hard me to adapt to the orange light in the mirror.

When I ordered I could care less about heated steering wheel, now I love it. Get out of a 250 diesel the ride and quietness is nice but was to be expected. Adaptive cruise was a big desire and great. The only drawback is to not let it slow you down by not changing lanes when approaching slower vehicle.

Twin panel moonroof...Errrh, too hard to pick just ONE element though!
Ride quality (compared to older generations)
Large display screens
LED lamps front/rear
Safety features (BLIS, 360 camera, parking sensors)
Rear space/cargo (backseat in the crew cab is HUGE)

Lol, you would think this was a car forum with all these replies! Lol
Blinkers too loud, heated wheels, and all the automated driving crap! Lol
Glad folks are enjoying them and hopefully when I'm in the market in the next couple years I can get the truck as a truck. I would like to see a better option process, there are some options I'd like but don't want all the fluff that comes in the packages. LED lights come to mind.

There was a day when power windows were a "gizmo". I remember my Dad not buying a car that had them because he was afraid they would break. Now a days it's hard to find vehicles without them and it's likely that the crank windows will break first because they are made so cheap. I do believe that with all the absolutely awesome safety gizmos that are coming with vehicles today, and especially the new F150, they will all be standard items before long. I think it's in 2018 when all vehicles will be required by law to have rear cameras. Cameras, Blind spot info systems, lane control, adaptive cruise control, backup alerts, cross view alerts: all this stuff is making the roads safer for all of us. Bring the gizmos on! Life is full of things that break, you just get them fixed and move on. Read a post on this forum not but a few weeks ago where the forward alert system saved the drivers life. Brand new truck and he was thrilled that one of those gizmos saved him. Change is wonderful.

If I want all these car like features I'll get a car.
I've been on here for years and I've seen the market and demographic shift, it's seems more and more people are leaving the SUV market since the introductions of higher milage for trucks. The manufactures have done a good job marketing to the soccer mom/dad crowd.

You are right RES4CUE, the market and demographics have shifted, and the manufacturers have done a good job of going with the flow. I happen to be one of the soccer dads. My father bought a Toyota T100 the year they came out. When I needed a truck to haul stuff around, I borrowed it. Then in his infinite wisdom, he got rid of that and got a Chrysler Minivan of all things!!! Then I didn't have a truck to borrow. Eventually got a Ranger to just have one around and let my oldest daughter use it as her transportation. Well, I found I was using it all the time. I had a Lexus RX300 at the time, pretty nice car. Bought a new Dakota and let her have the lexus. Since that time, I've had several different trucks, but I can't afford carrying insurance on a car and a truck and since I need a truck, it's wonderful that I can have one that rides, feels, drives and has the luxury of a car all in one. My truck is my family car and will be until I can drive no more! It's great there's a mix of things folks can buy. Having more control over which options to buy would be a real benefit. $7k for one option package is a bit absurd.

Like I said, there are really innovative cool things I would want but like you mentioned I don't like them packaging them up.
I wish it was like my 2010 STX, the wiring bundle has most of the wiring for the higher trims so with a little research you can have some of the options of the higher trims without the price, I added auto lights, TBC, heated mirrors and leather wrapped steering wheel.
