Default HOW TO: 2015 F150 2.7L Ecoboost Intake Silencer Delete/Removal

Made a little how to video for those who don't know how it's done or are curious about the process. It's a very simple procedure involving nothing more than a slotted (flat head) screw driver. Check out the video below.

I haven't taken any videos of before and after, but the turbo spool and blow off is more noticeable. It's not loud like an aftermarket blow off by any stretch, but definitely more audible.

A little bit more turbo and blow off sound via the intake. Not a whole lot louder, but definitely noticeable.

Also, I noticed a little better throttle response and a slight increase in fuel mileage.

Are you talking about the twirly thingy's? I pulled mine out last spring for a few months and noticed no improvement in turbo sound, no improvement in MPG and no improvement in throttle response. I put them back in.

I must be more sensitive then. Throttle response wasn't night and day by any means, but it was a touch more sensitive. Mileage increased .5L/100 (I'm in Canada). Differences are negligible, perhaps, but a difference nonetheless.

Holly smokes thats a filthy engine!! If you want to help get rid of my of the whistle noise, remove the intake tube off the turbo and deburr the inside lip of the plastic tube. I grounded off at least 3/16 of an inch of plastic off on the lip.

Haha, yeah, nothing I can do about it really. Would be a losing game to clean it. Would have to do it almost every day because of my place of work.

Yeah it will help with the air flow and it will help with any turbo whistle.. it will sound more like an air suction noise.
