Horrible fit and finish

Meh...it's mass produced with +/- tolerances just like everything else that's mass produced. I saw a few things on mine before picked it up but I've been building custom trucks for most of my life so I didn't worry about it. I adjusted one door, the grille fitment and a couple other small issues. I did the knocking sunroof TSB myself since I trust me more than some tech I know nothing about. I'll also be fixing the satellite antenna issue myself as soon as the one gets here. It was worth 20 bucks to me to not leave the truck with someone I don't know.
Short of an engine or trans failure I'm my own warranty department.

I'm in the same boat as the OP. I am enjoying the truck overall, its still a winner in price, performance, and options. But I agree, the fit and finish is embarrassing. I have an XLT sport.
I had the dealer deal with misaligned hood and doors, they got the hood to line up better, one of the two doors was improved, but one is still way out and the body guy said "its the best we can do, Ford says its within tolerances."
My hood was so badly aligned it actually contacted the side panels and had scuffed paint... the dealer fixed that too.
I have plastic pieces on the floor rails that pop off once in a while, little things like this is sloppy.
While waiting for my truck at the shop, I also walked the lot and noticed 8 out of 10 of these trucks had obvious body panel alignment issues.
Meh... I will enjoy the truck, but probably won't go Ford next time around unless this stuff gets better.

Worked at Ford in the body shop for 6 years, the last year and a half I was a combo tech(body tech and paint tech) . Left a month before the 15's hit the lots. With all the door/fender alignments I did on steel body trucks, I'll have to respectfully disagree here.

Before I bought I test drove and looked out for a lot of issues mentioned here. I experienced none. I've only have the truck for 4 days but I made sure to go over the outside every day to see if something isn't right. Everything appears to line up perfectly. Fit and finish inside is excellent.
My question is, did you not drive the truck before you bought it?

Oh I drove it, and it drove just like all the other ones I drove, bouncy, sloppy 4x4 driving. The vibration though was not something that shows until you are on a smooth road at 40MPH or above. The nearest smooth road to me is in another state! I drive 60 mile to work, it was around 40 miles that I encountered the smooth road and discovered the vibrations. The fit and finish is just a rant, my 2014 Lariat RWD had better panel alignment, just pissed that it got totaled is all. The fitment is not glaringly apparent, it can only really be seen under direct sunlight and at certain angles, something you wont see under fluorescent lighting in the service bay.
What is pissing me off is that I have a $61K truck that right from the start had issues, rear door freezing, then finding the vibration when going down a new highway @ 60 MPH, and then the radio stopped working the first week I had it, and did it 2 more times.
Today they updated the radio firmware to fix the SSM on it, and rebalanced all 4 wheels, which felt better at first, but it is still vibrating, just not as bad. I still have the 20" wheels from the 14, I had put snows on it, and they were damaged in the wreck. I will get those installed and see if the vibration goes away, I know for a fact that they are balanced and true, so if the vibration goes away, then I know its a bad tire or wheel, and if it doesn't go away, then back in it goes.
Hoping the radio issue is resolved, and hoping that sync 2.2 fixes the other issues I have with the iphone not working properly half the time. Never had issues with the MFT in the 14 with the phone, but have had all kinds of problems with it not functioning well. Text messaging worked once, and no longer works, even after deleting everything on the phone and sync and re-pairing. I should have known something wasn't right when I got in it to take it home and the Sync screen was dark. I shut off and restarted the truck and it came up OK.
Lets just say I am very dissapointed in this truck when my last one was, though not perfect, pretty much trouble free. Only issue I had was the remote start had a very short range, but it ran very good, was smooth to ride in, and was put together very well. The funny part is, I bought the 14 sight unseen, it was at another dealer, never test drove it, just made a deal and my dealer picked it up and did all the paperwork. In 63K miles it was in for service twice, once to be checked out after it fell on its face passing someone, but ran fine afterward, and only did it once, I had regapped the plugs right after that, which I think fixed any issues it had with running, the second time was to check out the charging system, which they replaced the battery and did a charging TSB, and checked out the remote start, which the dealer totally screwed up on and didn't catch the TSB that would have fixed it. That was in the first 20K miles, and it had just a few miles under 63K when it got wrecked.
On this one, if the radio issues, and vibration can get resolved, then hopefully putting a topper on will help get some of the jigginess out of the ride, and get some Bilsteins on it, the shocks suck royally! This I knew going in, that the shocks suck, which is why I didn't say anything about the jiggy ride. It rides like a 4WD, bouncy, jumpy, wallowy, just like all the rest I drove. The 14 being RWD had a nice smooth ride, and handled much nicer, but that is to be expected due to it sitting lower and not having the high sprung suspension.
The 14 was a pleasure to drive, this one not so much because it bounces so much, hoping that can be corrected with better shocks, and a tune should get me the performance that I was used to in the old one, the Sport mode is nice, but nothing like what a good tune can do. Better shifting with finer throttle control will make me happy, something I can't get with Sport mode since it holds gears too long for my liking. I considered replacing the wrecked one with another 14, but circumstances were not in my favor and I needed wheels, this was the first one I could find in short notice that had what I wanted. Ideally I would have wanted another RWD truck, but there were none within 200 miles, new or used. In used 14 models there weren't many that didn't have a lot of miles or had the short short bed so I could reuse my topper and bedrug.
I have to admit though, having that 36 gallon tank is great, I can go all week before filling up where I was filling up twice a week in the 14. I got better MPG in the 14, but not complaining about the MPG in this one, it gets what I expect it to, and it does run good, no complaints there either. I hope it tows better having the 3.55 gears, the 14 had 3.15 gears, so had to tow in 4th most of the time and got 7 MPG doing it. No complaints on the interior either, everything fits nice and tight, no noises inside.

With the new rear shocks, I can now tell the fronts wheels are really bouncy as well, looks like the Fox 2.0 for the front are now in my future.
