One comment suggests using a star washer or acorn nut to hold the cord onto the pin - I tried this the other night and once attached the pin would "bind" to where it would not release it to allow closure. I stated on the larger seat side of my Platinum - with no real value as there is not really any space behind it due to the subwoofer, etc.

I went over to the passenger side to try the mod there, and found there to be a pulls strap and a little different latch mechanism which you just pull the strap and it pops forward - allowing access to the tire changing tools, etc.....

so - at least in my case, no need for the mod but I know how to get it done if I need to access the subwoofer, etc
I had to get the back folded down to install seat covers. and there was no strap on the release. To get it released, tie a split key ring or something similar onto a strong nylon cord.. Pull the seat bottom up. this moves the latch up and it moves the top of the seat back forward enough to get your arm in. Feel for the release pin. It's the only pin facing the center of the truck. Slip the split ring over the pin. Pull upward hard on the nylon cord. You will probably need to wrap it around a screwdriver or something to get a good pull. You should hear and feel when the latch snaps open. Pull the seatback forward.. You now have aqcess to the pin. Rigging some some kind of attachment and strap is the easy part.

I keep a spare keyless fob hidden in my Platinum with batteries. It's wrapped in 4 layers of heavy duty aluminum foil. The truck can't see it until after i get in with the keypad, retrieve the fob and unwrap it.

On the Ambient Lighting screen, make all of the colors inline. (No color higher or lower than the others)

If so we should be good doing this...

BUT...

I started a thread long long ago and did alot of testing with the help of others on this forum on this question.

If I remember correctly I left the window open to simulate me breaking glass. Left a keyless fob in the truck with batteries. Got out and locked truck. I di remember you have to wait so long before the truck is armed.

I then proceeded to reach my hand and arm into the truck those motion detectors are very quick I did not get maybe a few inches in and the horn flashing lights and all that goes off. I try getting in the truck and hit the start button no dice.

I had to go get another keyfob from in the house and then deactivate the alarm and then start the truck.

What I do to key for a spare is I have a keyless keyfob locked up and hidden in the truck. NO BATTERIES in it. Truck does not know it's there. But if needed you can use you keypad on the door get in and then place the key again with no batteries in that spot you all know about and start the truck.

I have three keyless keyfobs got the extra on ebay for $40 and programmed myself.

I'd like to leave an extra fob in my truck as well. Does anyone know if the fob will remain programmed for an indefinite period of time with the batteries removed? I know you can use the hidden reader to read the fob but I didn't know if you left the fob w/o batteries for years if it would somehow lose it's programming. Thanks!

I noticed that if I turn on the fog lights, they come back on even after the truck has been stopped and re-started. I think I like this feature!

I like it too.
I've noticed that if the someone turns auto light switch off, you have to manually turn the fogs back on.

If you have one of those giant sunroofs, you can open it without first opening the shade; the shade automatically opens when you push the sunroof button. Also, the shade automatically goes to pre-programmed positions so you are not distracted too much by adjusting it.
