Here is a pic of what 100% stopped my noise. Take away the angle piece and some noise returns. Take bottom half off vertical and noise returns.

My truck is also louder than i would like when there is a strong wind at highway speeds. I appreciate the amount of time you guys have spent isolating the problem. I know the dealer would never go to those lengths.

From my experience it seems like the noise is coming from the mirror area. Although i understand it is not easy to figure out.

Default I am going to try the same

I have the same problem with the high speed noise from the driver door. I took the truck in once to align the doors and mentioned to driver door issue. It was not resolved. Compared to the passenger side (no noise) the driver door looks to bow out past the pillar on the angled portion, in the area of where OldFlick is finding the source of his noise. I will try the tape test to see if that is also where my noise is coming from.

We have the same truck...lol same color, mirrors and wind bulls_it. I think I'm going to leave my tape on and write Ford motor company R&D. I think duct tape might be more appropriate, and some bread-ties

no I know that, it was just an observation. When I fold the mirrors in it doesn't change, if it would have I would have ripped those things off that day

Hang a sign on it saying "How I Fixed My Wind Noise" and park it in front of Ford Dealership sales door and see how fast something is done to fix it.
