Here is why Ford may bring back SVT Lightning

Whatever motor goes in the next GT500 type Mustang needs to be in the next Lightning...along with obviously a lower, firmer suspension.Combine that with the Tremor/FX trim and possibly recaro (sp?) seats and you'd have a winner. If you're going to do it then do it right and don't ***** foot around. You halfass it and all GM has to do is drop the 6.2 as is with a set of headers and a hotter tune (or better an LSA) in a RCSB and it'll spank Ford's butt.

I would think that as limited as the Raptor was perceived to be, a new lightning would be even a smaller market. The american muscle truck is dying out with the amount of truck owners who are older. Not many younger buyers care for driving at all let alone a street queen. There have always been way more 4x4 enthusiasts then performance trucks. For every suspension company selling a lowering kits are 50 more selling lifts, coil overs, spacers etc. The American driving public has spoken and they want there trucks higher. If you want your fix of rear wheel drive power drive a mustang, camera, charger etc.

I would love a SVT street truck again. I left the Mustang scene to take a break (sold my baby 04 Cobra) but I do miss the power and feeling u get with a heavy foot. But I love the flexibility my truck gives me. A 6.2 in a light weigh truck would be awesome!

I'd love to see a new Lightning. I drove my '00 Lightning for 12 years and miss it dearly. Unfortunately with a new infant son in my life, single-cab trucks are a no-go for me, else I'd already have bought the '14 Tremor and would be eagerly awaiting another SVT Lightning
am still half-heartedly considering a '15 F-150 5.0 V8 and snagging one of whatever superchargers become available, but with my commute and weekly travels across Texas I couldn't afford the fuel

For those talking about sales numbers, Ford sells more Raptors than Nissan sells Titans.
Why complain about them making it, if you don't want it, don't buy it. They had waiting lists for selling the second generation Lightning...

A 2015 RCSB 5.0 would out run a stock lightning. There is a chance the 2.7 would be able to do it as well. That being said I think a new lightning would be a hit for a few years since there is some pent up demand.

I see plenty of Raptors around Dallas. They kinda remind me of the Hummer H2. A Lightning would be pretty cool with the 5.0 or 3.5. I can't wait to see what these tuners do to the 2015 3.5 EB.
