Help me pick a new Axle Ratio

In a 5.0 need a 3.55 or 3.73 since it has a weaker low rpm torque band. In the eb, you can swing a 3.31 to get great mpg too or stick in the middle at the 3.55. I towed an 8k lb boat with Eco and 3.55 easily. 5.0 would have towed it but nowhere near as easy. 3.31 gear tows it likely as well as a 5.0 with 3.73. So depends on your engine choice and what your goal is....

Ill bite...
Depends on engine and towing requirements.
70K miles on my 3.73 geared EB towing a 6k trailer lots...I could get away with 3.55s easy.
Been running a rental 5L for a couple of weeks with 3.55s and the lack of low end is very noticeable to me.
If I'm getting the 5L its 3.73s.....
Everybody is different but running the EB for 3 years has spoiled me with the low end.

Towed my 2000lb fishing boat today with the 5.0L loaner.
It tows ok but the lack of low end from the engine and 3.55 gears is so noticeable compared to the EB.
Hills that the EB wouldn't even downshift to 5th the loaner was hitting 4th.
I really don't think I'd enjoy the 3.55 gears and 5.0L combo pulling the travel trailer.
I'm missing my truck now......
If I was getting a 5.0L and towed anything the 3.73s would be a must.
