Has anyone actually driven the new 5.0 yet?
I've been reading tons of reviews and have yet to see one on the 5.0.
That being said Ford has to be pushing the 2.7 and 3.5 twins. Why?
It seems they put a good amount of work to the head on the new 5.0,
you would think they would be proud of it. Of course we don't know if it's a dog because no one's ever driven one. Hmmm.

I drool at the photos, specs, etc. of the 2015 Mustang 5.0 with 435HP/400TQ, but I'm still awaiting something...anything will do...on the 5.0 F-150 engine. There was a non-EB at the PDX Drive Event last week, but I never got to check it out...doubt that it was a 5.0.

It was mentioned in another thread that ford says the 5.0 sells itself and that the Eco motors need "convincing ".
Especially since the 2.7 is new this year, they use the drive event to get the word out. He 2.7 would be just fine for at least 50% of truck owners.
That said, is like reviews on 5.0 also!

Me five. You won't find a new 5.0 at any drive event, Ford is pushing the new 2.7 hard, and the 3.5 next. Why? Pick your favorite gov agency that defines CAFE requirements. The 5.0 will sell itself, but dealers will have mostly EBs on the lot.

The 5.0 will be the silent partner in the new F-150's.
Its been more prominent in the current gen trucks because there was only 1 ecoboost option, but the 3.5TT stole the show 75% of the time. With two ecoboost options I think the 5.0 will fade into the background a bit, just like the 6.2L did. Not saying there isn't good info / reviews on the 6.2L trucks they are just not nearly as common, same as the 3.7L.
I honestly think that the car reviewers will do some good reviews on the 5.0 but it won't see nearly as much media exposure as the ecoboost sisters.
Truck purists will still seek out the V8 option and I believe it will still sell well, but slowly the V8 will become a thing of the past, at least in the Ford half ton trucks. Glad I was able to get one while I still could .

The car mags that I subscribe to have all said that it's just a carry through from 2014.
Not much sense in talking about it if there are no changes.
They are focusing on the ones that are new or different.
