H9 and 9011 bulb swap results
So I swapped my H11 bulb to H9 and my 9005 to 9011. Also put 9005 in the fog lights.
I removed the bulbs through the fender well. Plenty of room if you jack up the side you are working on and turn wheel out not in.
H11 to H9. Factory bulb on left.
9005 to 9011. Factory bulb on pic on left.
9005 Fogs and H9 low beams.
I think the biggest issue is alignment from the factory. Also the H9s are brighter but the pic doesn't show it. By far the biggest difference was upgrading the foglights to 9005 bulbs. Hope this helps anyone thinking about the swap.

Nice! Thanks for showing the pullback of the wheel well liner and that definitely shows some good access!!
Did you leave the high beams as is?
And did you play with alignment at all? I agree that after checking mine on a dark road, they definitely have the low beams adjusted out too far. That's probably half the reason for all the complaints here on the board.
I just need to find adjustment points, and a good blank wall & knock them down a bit, for sure!

I see this all the time with powersports mostly. Some people equate "brighter" to better. LED's are brighter however if the housing wasn't designed to focus that light then they do not provide the better result. I see scatter in the above pictures and stock is outperforming the changes quite easily. The picture with the house above highlights this exact thing

9005 to 9011 are high beams. You can see the house in that pic. That's roughly 325 feet.
H11 to H9 are the low beams.
H9s are Hella. 9011 are Phillips.

While I have to wonder if it's an issue with the way the camera processes light (because the upstairs lights are on in one photo but not the other), the high beam picture seems to show that house having a lot more light on it in the left than on the right which would suggest that the factory lamp is better than the replacement. But again, it could just be because the lights in the house changed how the camera processed the photo.
