This TSB does NOT address any issues with the tail gate.

When you say the tail gate won't open due to being frozen, is it because the latch won't actuate or because the tailgate is frozen to the bed seals?

My latch wouldn't actuate. Ran thru the carwash last and it started working. I have the tailgate step but haven't been to the carwash in over a week and no rain in a similar length of time.

I opened up the tailgate panel and sprayed some WD40 on the actuator. Unfortuantly that did not help, the actuator is not actuating.

Mine wouldn't open because the cover seal on top was frozen.

Does your lock unlock? Mine isn't.

19 degrees F after car wash, all good after the new TSB done. -- Bad news is that parts are now on backorder for everybody else.

I don't believe so. My tailgate is an electronic button, much like unlocking the doors. I hear it "bump" like our door locks do when you press your fob to unlock them and it won't open just like a door with a frozen lock...

Correct. I think I have mine resolved until I get a chance to get into a dealer or hear Ford has a fix. Mine has to do with the tailgate step...water will drain directly onto the lock, thereby freezing it. I'll start a new thread shortly with pics.

My passenger side door wouldn't close/latch in the cold weather started yesterday. Also has anyone noticed that latch mechanism on the passenger side looks like plastic and the drivers side looks like metal?
