Frame being replaced

Frame being replaced
Has anyone had their complete frame replaced yet. I got rear ended last week, didn't think anything of it other than the need for a new rear bumper until the Ford Body shop told me the whole frame has to be replaced. The Ford guy did show me the frame and I do see where it is bent. Should I be concerned about the frame swap? Not putting the body shop guys down, but are they going to tear down and rebuild my truck like the assembly line? According to Allstate the frame swap does not meet the threshold for totaling the truck. Thoughts?

Yea I would think that would total it also...
Personally I would not want to own the truck anymore after a Ford Dealer did that much work to the truck to replace the frame. I don't let a dealer change the oil.
I wonder whats going on that the insurance companies don't want to total out these new trucks? There's another post on here that would make me think totaled out but they did not.

I've never heard of a frame damaged car NOT being totaled..Sub-frame, maybe, but the whole frame?

It's a 2015 XLT with 21,000 miles. I was told the frame costs around $2,000 and takes about a day to complete. I was also surprised about the frame, if they didn't inform me about it, I might not have noticed it. Even with the bumper, hitch, tail light and frame; the total isn't enough to total the truck.

Wow, looks like I may be in the same boat as the OP maybe.

I just dropped off my pickup this morning and during our drop-off walk around they noticed that there was a 1/2 inch gap difference between the cab and the bed right / left sides and it was possibly a bent frame or that the bed shifted. I walked away with a sad face to say the least. Hoping for the best.

Toyota has been replacing frames for years. No sweat I would rather have a new frame then one that was straightened out.
