sensor's only work on the interior, not externally. Even if you have a window open, you have to still stick your hand inside to get the alarm to go off.

Ill keep you guys updated with this. Also working on adding the 360 Camera system...lil more involved but I can figure it out. Just gotta map it out and determine which modules and receivers/senders i will need. Already have the Platinum grille with camera hole and the side mirrors with the cameras/puddle lights...just need to piece the puzzle together.
You got the Lariat auto dual zone climate working in your XLT? Please share any info as this would be something I'd definitely be intersted in doing one day!

Anything outside of that widow comes within a specific range, and it will honk the horn once to warn away. I know this as I am researching IF I can retrofit this part of the VSS to my 2016 XLT. Hopefully its just a new console to replace mine, a harness and a different control module. We will see.

This is what the unit looks like, FWIW.

I have this console. Not sure what having motion sensors in the vehicle does for anyone...seems like unnecessary equipment. I don't have perimeter plus.

No! Those are MY worthless motion sensors and you can't have them!

I'd probably do it to be honest (well...maybe, maybe not). I'm just failing to understand why any of us would need motion sensors to detect movement INSIDE the truck. Hell...why would you need to detect movement outside the truck?

They are kind of a pain actually. I quite often have my Dog with me and if I don't remember to shut them off he sets off the alarm just getting up and looking around. I think the idea is if you leave your vehicle parked somewhere and the windows down they will sense someone reaching in the window but not really a use full feature IMHO.

Yeah...I've been in my truck moving around and the thing has gone off (after I locked the doors). Somewhat annoying actually. I just thought it was buggy and now I realize the reason it's been going off in the middle of the night (happened a few times) is probably due to the couple of flies buzzing around in there and being picked up by the motion sensor.

Not useful at all. Just a nuisance really.

The truck is a 2016 F150 Limited.
Where did they install your led.... any pictures

No because it requires not only a new WHOLE dash wiring harness but also additional physical hardware. It works fine for me. Does everything it should minus the dual climate zone. It is possible but man replacing the dash harness is enough to scare off most from attemtping to get the dual zone working, but when you add up the costs of the required parts, this, THIS is one mod that I wont chase. The motion sensors is a bit easier and more fun to chase, and im still on it, but I have been taking my truck in to the stealership multiple times chasing a vibration issue that is driving me nuts. Between the family, dealership, and sheer frustration, all I have been doing is buying stuff online and storing in the garage until I get the vibration issue sorted. Sorry I know its not what you guys want to hear, but I assure you I will get the motion sensors in and working...then I will be able to explain what was required to do so. My MAIN reason for the radio bezel/AC control swap was the looks...the back lit blue rings, and the knurled ***** that give the interior that upscaled looked that is somewhat lacking in the XLT other wise. Same with my decision for the upgrade to the KR 8" cluster. Just looks soooo much richer....in an XLT. Ahh well you know, to each his own. Wish you guys could have seen the faces of the techs and service writers at the dealership, and their barrage of questions about my truck...lol classic!

jjkjr, this is where I put my LED for the add on glass break/impact sensor. I wanted it to be more centered but there is a retaining clip behind it so I was forced to locate it more towards the right. The instructions suggest placing it on the top steering column cover. Considering the other wiring, tilt and telescoping features I chose this easy to access a/c bezel. It can also be easily replaced if I didn't like this location and this is higher up and easily seen from outside and both sides of the truck but not hidden under the overhang of the dash. Hope this helps.
