Ford Perimeter Plus Security?

Platinum R.R.
My 2015 FX4 Platinum has a section in the Owners Manual that tells how it works.
Motion Sensor,
If the Windows are rolled down and someone sticks their arm into the Truck the Alarm will go off.
I believe it is set when you Double Click on the Key Fob. It also locks the Tail Gate.

It also goes off if you leave your dog in the truck. First two times thought there was something wrong with my truck, then noticed when I shut it off you can select perimeter sensors only.

It works too. This weekend, I rotated my tires. I enjoy wrenching on my truck. Easy job front to back. Anyhow, I forgot to unlock it before I started. As soon as I started jacking it up with my floor jack, the alarm went off. I immediately entered my door code and it stopped. Kinda cool.

No, 1st because I hate payments, and as such, I paid cash for my XLT sport with the options I wanted most...Twin panel roof 8 " touch screen, nav, center console power lock tailgate and power rear window. A few of these items, twin panel roof, that I could NOT add on my own later. 2nd because as a retired USMC engineer I've learned to do certain things in the field with whatever I had....and 3rd I truly enjoy the challenge/reward. My XLT, if anything, is pretty unique with parts from all trim levels above it. I've started my build.....the pics of my creation should speak to the outcome. Sorry, I know it sounds silly but this is the path I've chosen to create something that is an extension oh my personality. I don't see your question as being a dick at all. Thanks for the respectful way you asked it. I appreciate that. Hey what I'm doing isn't for everyone, just me. I'll never take the "easy" route...it's crowed with too many people already.

Mine is the Limited and it looks like it has it. I took a picture but can't figure out how to post it. It's doesn't seem to work though. Does it have to be activated by the dealer or something? I'm starting to think they didn't even bother installing the perimeter plus that I paid for. I definately don't see the LED anywhere.
Mike are you sure you turned it on in you alarm settings display on the main instrument cluster? I also have a limited and it works great. In fact too great I few times I forgot to turn off the internal sensors and my dog tripped the alarm by just getting up from the back seat to look around.

Found out the hard way I had the option on my 2016 Lariat with the 502 package. Was at my summer home at the Jersey Shore. The town was having their yearly bay festival. Went to bed around midnight, with lots of revelers still partying at neighborhood parties. Was just about to fall asleep when the alarm went off. Went downstairs, hit the key fob to disable alarm, checked truck..........nothing. Went back to bed. Ten minutes later, alarm goes off again. Perform same routine. Is someone messing with my truck ? Ten minutes later it happens again. Finally leave the truck unlocked so I can get some sleep. Next day, I find a rather large moth flying around in the truck while driving on an errand. Got rid of the moth, and have not had an issue again

Ford Perimeter Plus Security?
Please add me to the list. I'm also interested in the ability of adding the motion detection. I just added the OE Shock sensor. You mentioned the 8" screen. I ordered my 15' XLT with the 8" screen without nav only to realize after delivery that I didn't have the HD radio option. Any thoughts on adding HD? Thanks.
It doesnt add motion detection...it adds an adjustable shock sensor. The OEM motion detection is a feature built into the overhead console, and only available on a select number of trim levels. If you look at your over head console, you will know immediately if you have motion detection or not....you will see (4) round eye like objects that look like small cameras, Each one points toward a window...this is how the motion detection works. Anything outside of that widow comes within a specific range, and it will honk the horn once to warn away. I know this as I am researching IF I can retrofit this part of the VSS to my 2016 XLT. Hopefully its just a new console to replace mine, a harness and a different control module. We will see.
This is what the unit looks like, FWIW.

any more info yet Boosted? I keep getting horn chirps in the morning when unlocking the truck. would love for it to be able to go off if someone gets too close. no animal tracks on the truck and its black so it shows everything. has to be someone grabbing the handlers or bumping it as I have the 2 stage shock sensor. and if you grab any handle it barks the horn but if you grab the drivers handle it goes off full.
