Ford getting rid of the V8's would eliminate a huge number of their consumers. If they were to get rid of it, my next new truck won't be a Ford and I love my Ford. I really don't like the feel of the ecoboost and refuse to buy one. I've tried it out but it just isn't for me.

My thoughts exactly. Unless Ford comes up with better packaging, I'll be keeping my 13 RCSB 5.0 a long time.

This one ran a 14.3 (stock) with lots of wheel hop. I will agree.. they are pretty close stock. Throw a tune on each and it's not so close.

If they do away with V8s myself and a lot of others will stop buying Fords. The Ecoboost I drove was nice enough but I don't care to own one. Trucks should have a V8 option and Ford would be foolish to drop it.

Of the 4 engine choices, I believe the 5.0 is the most popular. Ironically, Ford didn't build and RCSB's with the 5.0 last year. (Probably less than 50) People ordered them waited 6 months or more and told their order was cancelled.

Dodge is the only one who really cares about us anymore. I love the rcsb tradesman/express package w/ the Hemi and that truck is readily available compared to the competition now.

Oh and lets not forget the 15 reg cab f150s have a smaller cab than the 09-14s. So they dont really appeal to me now anyway. Its really nice having some damn space behind the seats and a seat that slides back a generous distance for us tall guys.
I'm holding onto my '13 rcsb 5L with a white knuckle death grip for many more years.
I just traded my 2011 RCSB in for a F250. The 11 regular cab had much more room the new regular cab f250's , which surprised me. I ended up with a extended cab as I was spoiled in the 11 and having near zero room behind the seat was a lousy compromise in a work truck. It was hard to trade the RCSB off as I loved everything about it but I needed 4wd for our retirement property and also bought a bigger Travel trailer. I thought the F 250 tranny would be better in a 4wd towing rig.
My 11 RCSB did not last long on the dealers lot.

The Super Duty regular cabs are cramped. I guess that makes sense since they were designed in the 90's. Even the back seat of a crew cab SD is small compared to an F150. I've had about 10 different Super Duties, but love the F150. Enjoy your retirement!

Everything I've read suggests that the Raptor will come in around 450hp. It will not be using the 3.5EB found in the regular F150's, it will be using the 'second gen' EB similar to that found in the GT but with modifications to make it suitable for use in a much heavier vehicle. It appears that the 'second gen' EB was a complete redesign, not just modifications to the existing platform.

Maybe, but it's still going to sound like a V6 no matter what they do. I am disappointed they aren't sticking with a V8 for the Raptor. I personally would love to see Ford make a turbo'd V8 Raptor. You'd get great sound and a ton of power. Unfortunately with the way Ford is going they are just concerned about MPG so I don't see a turbo'd V8 happening.

I think the reality is there just are not enough people who want a regular cab anymore outside of commercial fleets. Super crews are the new norm, prior to that it was extended cabs. I don't think regular cabs have been mainstream since the early 90s. Same goes for RWD and manual transmissions. There probably just isn't enough market to make setting up the lines for them profitable. Lucky they still spend money on developing new half tons. All my dealer lots have more super dutys than F150s anymore.

With two kids I'd never go back to stuffing four on a bench seat.

Quick Reply: Ford, if you build it, they will come....
