First time F150 owner - Rough Idle?
Hi folks - I have a 2015 Ford F150 XLT Sport. Just bought it last week and love it. But one thing Ive been noticing is that it idles rough. It vibrates enough that you notice it. You can feel it. I also notice that when coming to a stop it feels like it is a little rough there too. I guess its hard for me to explain but has anyone out there experienced this or knows whats going on? Am I being paranoid? Im also getting 19 mpg so far and thats driving it mostly an hour a day between 60 and 75 for the most part. A little disappointing. Truck has about 350 miles on it now.
Thanks for any comments, and great forum!

Maybe some bad gas. You can always try a can of fuel cleaner, I prefer chevron by techron. Take note that it only treats up to 12 or 16 gals, I believe. Also 19 mpg's isn't to bad. The engine really doesn't start yielding better milage till about 5K miles, but then you'll be lucky to pull 20-21 mpg's. What engine / rear do you have? I have a 3.5L Eco with 3.31 rear and get in the 20-21 range while driving highway, @ 65-70.

It's a 3.5 ecoboost with 331 rear. Maybe it is bad gas. I'll see as I need to fill up tomorrow. Regular 87 octane ok you think? Dealer filled up the first tank so I don't know where it came from.

i do notice some vibration from time to time during idle but for 80-85% of the time at idle it is smooth, i got the truck at 531 miles and have always run 93 octane since i started filling up the tank. i notice the truck idles about 600 rpm, and when is drops a little i notice the vibration, not constant vibration. but always remember you have a warranty and you can take it by the dealership at any time to have that checked out, so sleep at night and i would suggest you let the engine break in for the first 1000 miles and see if you even notice it after that.

I use 89, but that's just my preference. I don't see anything wrong with 87 octane, as long as your getting it from a good gas station. Mine has some bounce in idle here and there, but I wouldn't worry to much. As long as you don't have an issue when accelerating, I would say it's all normal.

You're getting 19mpg on a brand new truck that isn't broken in? I'd say that's pretty fekkin good!

Thanks for all the replies! Yea, Im probably just a little paranoid. Ill keep my eye on it but enjoy the truck in the meantime!
And HCFX, there's a "break in period"? Hope that holds true on mine because I was expecting 20-22 with the driving Ill be doing with the truck.
Thanks again everyone!

With my 3.5EB, it almost seems like it has a miss during its warm-up at first start of the day. Once it settles down to normal idle it seems to go away, but every once in awhile, even while warm, I'll get a bit of rough idle (feels like occasional miss).

You can always check the gap on the plugs. My '14 was running rough, I pulled the plugs, and they were all out of wack. So I regapped them to .030. Ford recommended a larger gap, but alot of us felt .030 or .032 was the sweet spot. It's quite possible that the plugs came from the retailer with bad gaps, others have confirmed this by checking straight out the box. Be careful setting the gap with iridium tip plugs.

I'm searching because I have the problem . 2015 3000mi , its not bad gas with mine. I don't think your paranoid when you spend that kind of money on a new truck it should idle halfway decent actually all the way lol
