They sell alot of Fords that are back in the Service alot??? Sounds like an Issue to me. All the Fords they sell are broke in some way...

How much time should I give them before I dial it up a bit? You mentioned others received new trucks, but one guy's problem was determined to be a faulty ground. Wouldn't that be something they check first?
If you want to see if it can be fixed, tell them about the seat fix found here

If your short is elsewhere, who knows how long it will take to find

The issue is the fault has the potential (when your steering goes out) to result in an accident where neither police nor insurance will believe your vehicle just went crazy so you'll be out major $$$ due to no fault of your own not to mention bodily harm and liability

Why do you think Ford is replacing vehicles with this issue so quickly ie outside of normal buyback timelines

Ironically I just received a call from the service department to say my truck is ready for pickup. He said all the hardware tested fine but there were "communication" failures on all the safety systems to include running boards. After seeking guidance from Ford they were sent an update to reprogram all the modules. Codes were cleared and have yet to return. He said if the problem reoccur there may be a hardware issue....even though he previously said the hardware tested fine.

I'm picking up the truck tomorrow morning with fingers crossed.

Ford certainly seems to be having some some electronic communication failures with regard to their new 2015 F150's! What they did sounds common, clear the faults, return vehicle to customer and then hope problem is fixed!!

Wait one! What is causing these reoccurring problem? If the problem was isolated to entertainment systems that would be one thing. But it's not! Engine, transmission, Brakes, Steering, Safety Systems are all computer controlled, when those FAIL, consequences can be serious!

Good luck with your truck, but I think owners should receive an honest explanation for the failures, but don't wait for one.

Agreed! When I pick up the truck in the morning I'll post a pic of the service write up.

Default Still not fixed

To absolutely no surprise, I didn't even make it out of the dealership parking lot before the safety systems started displaying fault messages....again! Of course I pulled right back into the service bay.

The service guy was sympathetic and said, "Man I am sorry but we just do what Ford tells us to do. They said to clear the codes and release vehicle to customer and that's what we did."

Ok, I guess I can certainly say, I told you so!

Good luck now, Fords going to start putting on the brakes and pointing the finger at you the customers!! That's right, get prepared, seems the customers are screwing up all Fords electronics!! OR they're going to say it's all a "normal characteristic", either way it ain't good!!

Good luck to you and to all those like you...,,

@AbitaPro I never doubted you for one second. Exactly what you said would happen, happened. Even when they called yesterday to say truck was fixed I was skeptical. However, I just can't start demanding a new truck or buy back after 5 days in the shop and two repeat visits.

I'm already there......

- 4 or more times in service for same issue, or
- Without use of vehicle for 40 or more days total.
