Any good ? Amazon.com: The Stubby Antenna for Ford F-150 (2009-2014): Automotive
Not sure that would look very attractive on your new vehicle. Just a thought.

Thanks!

Yes I've found I can make small adjustments without disturbing the radar alignment.

Is there a way to run a power cord up through the mirror? I have an adapter for my valentine (saavy) that plugs in to the OBD port and allows me to mute the Valentine below a speed I set. Great when I don't want it in the city with traffic.

Only problem is the OBD port is beneath the steering wheel on the F150 so now I have to find a way to run a telephone power cord from that adapter to my windshield.

So far it's just been hanging out on my dash but I'd love to mount it like you did if I can keep the functional use of the adapter.

Just guessing (I don't have a new F150 yet)...but you could probably run the cable up above the mirror into the space between the headliner and windshield then over to the driver's side. You should then be able to hide the cord behind the trim on the A-pillar then go in where the dash meets the A-pillar. You would see the cord from the detector to the headliner but that should be minimal.

That one suffers from reduced reception capability. You might be in a area that you don't need to maximize reception or don't travel in your truck, but if you travel outside that area, reception is definitely compromised.

Yes, it was easy. I walked through the steps in a thread I started on the AntennaX antenna (if you search my profile threads).

However, in essence, you wrap the bulb end in electrical tape to protect its finish, use vise grips closed down around the shaft of the antenna to permit the vise grips to slide up against the bulb, hold the end of the antenna and slide the vise grips along the shaft to tap the bulb off the end. Reapply via press fit after you cut down the OEM antenna and slightly file the end to fit the bulb hole.

Just use shackles to lower the rear 2 or 3 inches.
