Default Factory Sound System

Is the factory Sony HD system really that bad or is it just not up to par for the 'audio-heads'?

I'm somewhat worried now from all I've been reading and the trouble some are having when trying to upgrade the system in the Ecoboost models.

Thanks

No, in my opinion it's quite good for a factory system.

If you're an audio junkie, you probably shouldn't raise your bar very high. Very rarely will a factory system out perform an aftermarket system. I don't care if it says Sony or not.

I'm quite content with it. Sounds great. I made a few adjustments to the bass, treble, and center and switched the fade back a bit. Works great for me.

I'm very happy with it and you can crank it up really loud with almost no distortion! It's just not a $3,000 system. If you blind folded some of these folks they could not tell the difference till you crank it up real loud.

If it don't rattle the tag they aren't happy.

just my 2 cents, I'll put my flaming suit on now!

Bob I did not think you had a 2015 yet?

I am the one who had the terrible sound system. It did have a bad amp or something and was repaired. I traded trucks and the new one sounds good to me. I am satisfied with as is. Not as much bass as my 2012 had but enough to sound good.

I don't. Been in two of them during test drives. I traded a 13 with the same sound system except for the woofer being slightly different.

Bob they are not completely identical. There are differences.

You would know better than I would but what I saw while playing with it look the same! Didn't dig around the back much to check the Subs.

I do almost the same thing you did with your settings to improve the sound for what I like.

Move the balance more to the rear. I raise the bass and treble all the way up and leave mid's at the middle. Could have used a little more bass but sounded good to me.

These systems are 100 times better than what they use to put in them!

Now that I have a fully functioning system in my 2nd 2015 I am very satisfied with it. Some of the guys who like me complain that it sound terrible make me think they too may have a bad part like my 1st 2015 had. 2015 No1 did everything like it was supposed to but the sound quality was just plain poor. Too a very untrained ear or to someone with bad hearing it may have passed as OK but to anyone used to a good sounding Sony system it was obviously not right.
