Email Negotiation question
For those of you that have successfully used email negotiations either orders or buying off the lot. Did you initially just tell them the spec of what you wanted and what you were willing to pay or did you just tell them the spec and ask them for their best offer?

I found the truck I wanted on their lot and e-mailed an offer that was $2000 less than I had gotten from another lot on X-plan. I figured they would decline but they accepted. Glad I did not use x-plan. Netted out at 20% less than MSRP, which has been what the average has been on the What did you pay below invoice thread on here.

Advertised on their website, emailed and asked : "is it there?" they said yes. From that point they would not stop emailing me. A month later, it was still there, went in and bought after the trade in game. I already new the price was excellent.
Truck has turned out to be the worse I have ever bought and all of my others were actually, bought second hand from dealers!

I did everything through email. I sent them my autotrader add to appraise my car and I worked out the deal all through email. I didn't want to drive two hours to waste my entire day.

I worked with 4 dealerships. Emailed all with exactly the truck and options for a 2016. Had to order because know had exactly what I wanted. Negotiated $1000 below invoice. Trucks built and in transit.

Give them the specs you want and make sure they know you are looking at the other brands. Depending on what you're looking at, you should pay somewhere just south of the invoice. Dealer holdback and other incentives (for dealer) will allow them to sell under their invoice price. They will tell you "I'm gonna take a loss on this one just to earn your long term business" but don't believe it. They make something.

Is it reasonable and/or possible to ask for and get A to Z and then rebates through internet sales? For example if MSRP is $49K, A to Z is $43K, and there's $7K in rebates, is $36K reasonable? Is my sanity questionable? BTW, those are just nombers I made up, so I don't know if they actually are reasonable in themselves.
