I don't think there is anywhere to put the camera where it can function and it won't get dirty. I'm in a 2017 Cadillac CTS rental for work now, and the camera is WAY worse than the one on my truck. It is "protected" up under the trunk deck and gets covered. Plus the resolution is crap and it's distorted. The rear of a vehicle is a low pressure area so dust gets sacked in and without air flow to remove the water, it gets dirty.

I suggest driving REALLY fast in reverse, or use your mirrors like the olden days.

Personally I do the finger wipe method whenever I remember or when I notice it is really bad.

The camera probably should have been mounted in the box light/brake light but then it won't work for canopy users.
Camera source makes one of those.

I purchased this one not too long ago. It has worked out great. It keeps the rear camera on my 2017 F150 much cleaner.

A good concept and should work well. I got a hoot out of this quote about the 3D printer striations: "Shield is scientifically engineered with micro airfoils to help deflect wind and debris away from the Camera Lens." Good marketing spin.

So what is wrong with that?....The problem has not gone away and there is now a feasible solution. Like everyone else I have had the same problem with the rear view camera on my 2017 F150.

Participating in an ongoing or active discussion would go over a lot better than digging up nearly 3 year old threads so you can pimp your product.

Advertising Rules
Some members of F150 Forum may work for a company the sells parts, accessories or services for the Ford F150 trucks. It is natural to want to advertise your product and/or services on this site. However, in order to create a community that is not continuously filtering through unwanted solicitations the administrators will enforce firm rules in regards to advertising.

What advertising is allowed?

This signature file can be four lines long and contain a link to your company, phone number, and a quick line of text. Text in the signature must be standard font size (2) and must not contain any questionable content.

Any signature file that is longer than four lines or contains large fonts will be deleted.

Once you create a signature file you are free to participate in meaningful conversation on the board. As you gain a reputation on the board you will also be advertising your company via your signature.

What type of advertising is NOT allowed?
Users who post messages that promote any products or services that they sell or provide will be deleted. Anyone who posts ads or meaningless content just to get their signature out there will have their posts deleted as well.

Users who violate these rules will also have their accounts disabled.

Last, if you have a product or service that you really want to reach the board with then you can buy a banner ad from us. Please contact us if you would like to receive more information on advertising.

I am not the seller, I am an applications engineer for a software company. I just remembered trying to find the same thing on various forums not long after buying my truck. So thought I would reply. I remembered this site and had to join to make the reply and last night when trying to get to the original thread i saw this one. So I thought I would share.

I am not a big online social media guy. Never have had FaceBook, Twitter or anything else. I am a 56 year old that thought he could share a solution to a problem.

Didn't mean to offend.
