Yeah, absolutely. The Ford "permaseal" or whatever they call it is like nothing I've sen before on other lights (coming from Japanese cars). The longer baking time made opening them easier. I tried at the standard 20 minutes and it was still rock solid so longer baking at a higher temperature did the trick.

Ok. You baked them once?

Also why didn't you paint them? Just curious.

I took them out at the 20 minute mark and they didn't budge so they went back in for longer at higher heat.

The truck is Bronze Fire and I liked the contrast between the chrome and body color. I thought about blacking them out, but it wasn't the overall look I was going for. I'm probably the only dude in my 20s that wants more chrome and less black on the 150 haha.

Ah Haha ok well I see.

This couldn't of come at a better time for me also as I'm gonna do mine soon. I'm sure I will have more questions soon but thank you.

What temperature bulb did you go with and what are your opinions on light output and color. I'd normally go with a 4500K bulb but it seems like the 5500K XB bulbs have a better color and light output from reading their reviews on TRS

after doing the Mini H1 do you think you had the room in there to put the Mini D2S or do you think it would have made it too much of a PITA to put the bigger projector in there and just stay with the H1?

Seems like the H1 is easy install and good light and the D2S is harder install but better light

I did 4500k to stay in the OEM range, but am seriously considering 5500k since my fogs seem to add quite a bit of yellow when they're on. When they're not and it's the projectors only- the light is pure white with no blue.

The D2S would certainly require a wider hole for the threaded base. I'm not sure about modifications due to the width of the projector itself. One other thing to consider is the D2S Igniter and how it fits into the housing while still staying water-tight.

The D2S has a brighter Hotspot and longer throw, but it also has a curved shield that somewhat bows the beam. I chose the Mini H1 since it was closest to the tsx or s2k beam pattern I'm used to on other builds.

I have DS2's in my low beam housing. Guy who installed said it as a pain in the ***. As far as difference, I think DS2 throws light a little farther but the new H1 7.0s supposedly have a really nice wide throw to the light. So its a give and take.

Awesome write-up. I've been wanting to do this but didnt want to screw it up. Can you see the gap between the shroud and the reflector once installed? I cant tell from the end result picture.
