Default Disabling Seatbelt Chime Problem

I've read the posts and the manual... bear with me. Lariat 502A 5.0L, completed the sequence but can't get it to stick! At the time it seems to be okay - turn off truck, get out, get back in and start with no chime but it likes to reinstate itself after a day or so!

I have followed the directions to the letter except for one thing - I have no key to switch to "on" without starting. All I can do is press the button without hitting the brake to set accessory mode. Angry red man disappears after about a minute like normal.

I like to start the truck and use the moment or two while I buckle up, etc, for the engine to settle down before I take off. That chime is annoying...

Am I crazy?

I tried several times and had no luck either. I really don't want to listen to it while I'm cruising off road.

The beltminder can be disabled by the dealer. I know you want to do it yourself but if its not working thats the only option. See this thread which shows IDS options:

So I followed the videos on YouTube. I have the push button start. I got in and pressed down the parking break. I then pressed the push button without my foot on the break. I then waited the 90 seconds or so for the seatbelt indicator to turn off. Then inserting and removing the seatbelt buckle 4 times. Once again I waited for the indicator to go off. Then I inserted the buckle again. I did not notice the indicator flashing multiple times afterwards and I assumed that it could not be done with either the new trucks or the push button start but after a few days I noticed I had not heard the chime. So I intentionally left the seatbelt off and my entire drive to work it did not make any noise. That was 15 miles/25 minutes. So apparently it can be done.

Worked great for me, 1st try.

Push button - red seat belt guy goes out after about a minute. Insert seat belt 3 times with in 30 seconds. Red seat belt guy starts flashing - insert seat belt again, release and red guy goes out. Done

Repeat same process sitting in the passenger seat.

I had the same results as idrive... Works great on drivers side and passenger side. Don't forget the last 1 click after the 3. His instructions are spot on...

Worked perfect for me just as idrive described.
