I was in the same boat two weeks ago, but when my dealer told me I would not see the truck till 1st of the year, I bought a 2014.
I can always trade this truck in 8 months from now when things straighten out and get a 2015, somehow I doubt that with the price increases on the new one, and the discounts on the 14, I doubt I will lose that much.

Dont you want to wait awhile first for the bugs to get worked out?
Let's hope that Ford hits a home-run, but if no one buys a 2015 because they are waiting for the 2016, or 2017 or 2018, then pretty soon you are waiting for the carbon fiber F-150.
If I need a new truck, the 2015 will be it.
Oh, BTW, which tranny do you think will be more trouble-free, the 2015 6-speed or the 2016 10-speed?

Depends on how much faith you have in Ford. I was an "early adopter" for my 1997 Expedition, and it was flawless. Really.

My mother in law makes parts for Fords transmissions. She said they will be making some parts for the 8sp and the 10sp. They are making proto type parts now. Production will start for the 2016 model. I don't know what vehicles will get them.

Does anyone REALLY think the truck needs 8 speeds? I mean I came out of an 06 with the overdrive 4th and the new 6 speed seems about perfect to me.
But again, that is behind the 5.0, maybe it would help the 2.7 and the small 6?

I have bought four Job 1 trucks and had one nightmare in 1997 which dealer/Ford made more a good on. The current one is a 6.7 diesel which was high risk, no problem. Job 1, radical new designs are not as problem ridden now w/computer designing and extensive prototype testing. Hope my new one is early in production.

If the rumors of Jan/Feb deliveries have any validity - and I've warned my dealer about this - I will be canceling my order and just go with a 2014.
