It is beyond me why they would not be able to upgrade to at least 2.0 since that was what was installed from the Factory after or about 6/16.
That being said, if you do use the Software from this Forum will it have any effect on your Factory Warranty? This does concern me.
Thank you for some information I can use instead of a condescending tirade.

It is somewhat available for UPGRADE to a few thousand Lincoln owners....they are the beta testers for the UPGRADE process.
Upgrading is different than being installed from the factory.
You would be quite vocal if the upgrade bricked your radio and Ford would have a PR nightmare with a million F150s being bricked if they just released it since oh we believe we have it working.....
So, you can wait or you can download and install it yourself. Warranty isn't much of a concern as there as been hundreds of installs done this way without bricking on various models of Ford with Sync 3

I too learned that the software update should be performed prior to installing the new USB hub. I saw some others ask this question in this thread (somewhere in the 1800+ posts) and don't believe the question was clearly answered but I may be wrong.
I think the OP deserves an enormous amount of credit and thanks for the information he has shared, that although he had access to the information he didn't have to share, not to mention the other folks that have helped forum members that encountered difficulties during the installation (like myself) of the new software.

I don't post here much, but I learn a lot by browsing. tmcolegr is a huge asset to this forum. It's too bad that you choose not to believe what he's telling you. And that's fine, but why be a jerk about it? He speaks the truth. The factory does not share all software with the dealers. Thus the dealers cannot install either v2.0 or v2.2. Less flapping of your gums and more reading of the thread would clearly show you that.
He's just extremely frustrated right now and I can't blame him, although he's expecting something the dealers can't (not won't) provide at this time.
It's all good !!

Frustrated?, Yeah I'm Frustrated. My truck was in the shop for 6 days to address 2 known issues with SSM's and the problem with the seat should have been taken care of in 3 days MAX. It is 3 months old with 4600 miles.
I know I have read somewhere on this Forum where people with 1.0 and the Audio "Locking up" problem have taken their trucks to the dealer and either had their Software updated or the ACM replaced.
If he had just answered my question in the first post without being a condescending *** it would have been a lot more beneficial. From your "Gums" comment it looks like you are both from the same school.
I have read many pages on many threads in this forum and have found a lot of very useful information. Too bad that was not the case here!

Can someone confirm whether installing the hub prior to upgrading is really an issue?
I suppose I could just reinstall the old hub, upgrade software, then reinstall the new hub but I don't see how the hub could affect the software upgrade. Thanks!
