Default Cost of extra key fob?

How much is one of the smart proximity key fobs from the dealership? Also, if I find one on ebay or something do I have to take it to dealer to be programmed?

I got mine off eBay for $65.00 free shipping. Took just a couple of minutes for me to program it. Takes longer to read and understand the instructions than the actual doing it. You do need to have onhand both fobs that came with your truck.
I marked mine *, **, *** so I know which are which before starting.

So did you program it as a "my key?" I want it to stash inside truck so it won't honk when I leave it running.

Lol, I know right? I've been torn on it for that reason. I live in rural south GA though and vehicle theft isn't a big concern for me. I left my other trucks running with key in ignition so not really much difference. I mainly do it when I have my lil buddy (dog) with me but I've realized I also do it at my work and folks houses where I don't feel like I have to cut it off. If I felt like my truck may get stolen I wouldn't leave it running anyway.

Why not shut it off, get out and then hit the remote start. Seems like a better, cheaper, and safer solution. At least thats what I do when I want to leave it running.

No I have no need for a My key so I made it as the third administration or what ever they call it. It has the same rights as the original two keys have.

It may or may not be hidden in my truck. But makes my life a lot easier.

I think that's actually what I'm gonna do. Then I don't have to buy an extra key and no security risk with no key in it. Just a minor inconvenience to cut it off and get out my key.
