Ok, WTF kind of answer is this? Spend 50k for a vehicle and that's the response. My seat does not work no matter where the lumbar is set. This option was a major reason to spend what I did. Pretty sad when my buddy said he wouldn't even turn it on at all because it's so hot back there he didn't want me to wreck anything else. Good luck to everyone else having issues. Don't even ask about having one side of the roof caulking wavy as you could possibly get and the transmission clunking coming back down to 4th gear. The transmission already has been in and taken care of. Guess more trips are in line.
Just throwing this out there but maybe a Class Action Law Suit is in order? Don't even ask me how it works but you hear about people doing it all the time.

I foresee a GM type fix just like the heated windshield washer fluid on the Avalanches. Remove the part and give the owner a credit. Ford will probably come out with a fix of removing power to the seatback blower and giving a couple dollars back to the owners.

The problem as I see it is that without a duct to remove the hot air from the seat backs they are not going to cool. What a way to save a few dollars.

The truck was also there because the left butt cheek massaging "balloon" wouldn't deflate fully, which made it feel like I was sitting on a rock.

The same "interior specialist" reported that the seat doesn't have anything that inflates or deflates in it and it was just that the cushion was deformed.

What the hell type of training does the "interior specialist" have if he has no idea how the seats even work?

Very disappointed so far in Palm Springs Ford. I'm leaving it overnight so the shop foreman and another tech can look at it tomorrow.

Update to follow.

Feel free to share this with your dealerships....straight from Ford.

It's like no one at Ford even tested these "Cooled" seats out....at least not for more than a few days.

90% failure rate is just pathetic.

I pick my truck up today, they are waiting on parts. Not sure if the parts pertain to the seat coolers, or one of the other small items I had them look at....either way, I want my seat cooler fixed pronto!

I'm no expert on Ford policies, but I just asked FordService for the name of the Parts Subject Matter Expert so we have a Ford employee name, someone with actual, factual, information. Someone we can tell our dealerships to call for assistance with this matter, as some dealership's are not believing the customer, or, the dealerships have the wrong information pertaining to the operation of these seats.

Just because another truck on their lot has the same issue, doesn't make things normal. 90% of us are having this issue....

They are not going to give you that info. They used that line "we checked others on our lot" to also diagnose my fan issue, they were wrong.

I posted this earlier, here it is again:

Hello Edward J,

My name is Chermaine, I am from Ford`s Customer Relationship Center (CRC). I have reviewed your email regarding the seat concerns on your 2013 Ford F-150. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

I have looked into my resources for you. I have verified that, in the front climate controlled seats, the air is distributed through the seat back and seat cushion.

We recommend that your vehicle be inspected by a Ford dealership to determine the cause of any symptoms your vehicle may be experiencing. Your local Ford dealership has factory-trained technicians and the most current Ford service information to resolve your vehicle concerns. The Service Manager will review your case to ensure all resources available through Ford Motor Company are utilized to assist you. If there is no coverage under applicable warranties, recalls, or Extended Service Plans, repairs and services would be your responsibility. Your next step is to make an appointment with your servicing dealership to have your vehicle diagnosed. You may reach Sterling McCall Ford at (281) 588-5000.

Thank you for contacting Ford Motor Company.

Sincerely,

Chermaine

That's good news for you!

However, I don't see why FordService can't provide us with the name of the expert at Ford with the proper information regarding our seat operation. No phone numbers required, just a name we can tell our local service department to contact if they push back on this wide spread issue.

And to be clear, I've not been told "normal operation" or "same as others on lot"....as they know everything worked when it was fresh on the lot (2 inspection trips before purchase). As far as I know, they have ordered new parts to resolve all my issues (fingers totally crossed). I will get the skinny this afternoon on the exact parts and let y'all know.

It use to be you could meet with folks to discuss your truck problems, Ford has stopped that. They don't want the conflict nor the possibility that someone will go off of script.

I knew it would only be a while before Ford started saying, "this is normal!.

The only thing we can do is make it known to as many websites and people that we can.
