Whatever that is, it looks way cool. Care to describe what it is and what it does?

It's a 3D printer and he uses it to make the parts for the cooled seats module intake and exhaust mods.

That is a BCN3D Sigma which is a fairly highend home use 3D printer. It is how I print the parts that I have been using for the guys to fix the cooled seat issue.

I can basically print anything I want out of plastic!

So to put the seat parts in perspective...

Here is an in process picture of 3D printing 12 at once. My old machine really could only handle 6 per print. This run takes a long time and honestly gets close to the 24 hours mark depending on settings. Thought you all would like to hear the info!

Maybe beyond 2017!!??

I also asked about the reference to cutting the seat foam (which one post referenced) as being some kind of service bulletin or such from Ford......NOPE.... the only authorized modification to the as-produced seats in respect to cooling would be the TSB that many of us have already had applied to our vehicle (either later production versions or via field TSB installs thru a dealer)..... period! If the seats still do not meet your expectations, the only added path would be to install Tim/SeatGuru's mod to address the exhaust aspect of the TED..... but that is an individual judgement decision, in my eyes.

I think I can unofficially say with great assurance that what I wrote above is 100% accurate.... remember, I am a Forum member like you, not a representative or spokesperson for Ford..... but I do treasure that the Ford Seat Team still corresponds with me to help address rumors and such..... and I will not take that channel for granted. It is what it is!! I share with you what I can to not ruin that confidence!!

Maybe this is not what I/Tim(SeatGuru) and you folks hoped for as far as news, but that is all I have to report for now.....AZPLAT
Thanks for all the hard work you've done on this. Right now I'm looking at purchasing the Ford Edge Titanium 2016 (although by the time I can buy, the 2017 will be out), and I believe the Edge and F150 share the same stupid design on the "cooled" seats. Thus, I've been actively lurking here, hoping that the 2017 would be fixed. Alas, that's not going to be the case.

I did test drive the 2016 Titanium and there was zero cool air out of the back, so obviously the dealer hadn't done the TSB on it (or if they did, it wasn't right).

So either I need to plan on spending like $500 extra on the Seat Guru kits (assuming they ever come in stock again), plus probably several days of my time installing it (once the vehicle has the TSB done??), or seriously consider my alternatives (Hyundai Santa Fe Sport --which does cool the back) and/or the Kia Sorento.

I wonder if everyone (Edge and F150 owners) filed BBB complaints or something may prod Ford to do something, but it seems like Ford doesn't care at all on this, which makes me seriously consider whether I want to buy a vehicle from a company that has a known flaw and chooses to do nothing about it. (My POS 2005 Chevy Equinox already has all that and that's why I'm not going to consider a GM again).

Anyway, again, THANK YOU!!!! for working so hard on this and letting everyone know.

just a quick section of what I have heard from Ford to this exact topic out of respect I will not post the audio recording in which this was taken from.

"the heating or cooling of a seat Ford does not believe has impacted the use of the vehicle for example heat or cooled is certainly not considered essential function to operate the vehicle and what do the poor people do who don't have the heating and cooling of the seat. Ford does not feel that it has impacted the value of the vehicle, it in fact has been working as designed, albeit Mr. SeatGuru doesn't like the design it certainly has not impacted the safety of the vehicle but nothing has failed and there have been no codes"

GM had that same mindset with their speedometer issue about 10 years ago... bad stepper motors causing the speedometers to not work correctly.. NHTSA did not consider that a "safety" issue, so no recall was issued, and GM ignored it... that is until a class action suit was filed... that got their attention really quick.

Basically, in other words, "We don't give a **** about upselling content that doesn't work properly because it's not a safety issue and thus is not subject to NHTSA recall".

I have been a Ford man all my life. On my 9th straight Ford vehicle. I have finally gotten to the point I can afford these AC seats that have been out for almost 10 years. Ford is showing how much they care about me.

Does anyone know how well the Ram 1500 cooling seats function?
