Both sides of mine are cooling the bottom and back. I start out with the 3 bars and soon have to drop it down to one. I'm in the SE and it gets very warm here. My air is set to auto and usually around 70.

Don't know if that has anything to do with it or not.

FordService, can we get some clarification on this? Are both the bottoms and back supposed to be cooling? Mine only cools the bottoms on both seats. Heat is working on both bottoms and backs.

Amen, seeing as my service adviser says only the bottoms are cooled. I suspect the variance has something to do with the massage seats, like those in my Platinum whose backs are not cooled.

My local service rep told me bottoms are cooled with ambient air, did not even know about the TEDs, i felt the back of mine cool once, but now, nothing...nevertheless, you can feel the heat from the Ted behind the seat pocket, and hear the fan running, so it should be cooling, or heating

Is there a louder fan noise in heat mode, versus ac mode? One thing my wife pointed out to me, when you look at the climate control screen, specifically the heat and cool seat icons, you only see indications that the seat is cooled.

from what i read, it should be the same...the thermo electronic device, converts electricity to hotter or colder air, and the fan blows the result to the seat...they must have alot of malfunctions....when i brought our platinum home, one bar on cooling was almost too much..now 3 weeks later i can drive all day with 3 bars and be somewhat aware that its cooling...sortof......

I have bad hearing, but I use to hear them blowing when the seats are on, not anymore. Guess I better take out the extended warranty!

Could just be the warmer conditions now, but it almost feels like the backs are heating while the seats are cooling....or it could just be the difference of cooled vs non cooled when it's 90 degrees outside lol.

I sent FordService a PM, hopefully we'll have a definitive answer soon.
