Who in their right mind came up with this idea?
Fake v8 sound from speakers! I am sure in a group meeting there were people who laughed at this idea! Why didnt they speak up enough?

I agree that the option NEEDS to be made available. Not being able to upgrade the speakers because of an artificially added engine sound is engineering at its worst.

C'mon Ford, help us out!!

Also, anyone know what happened to that thread where a forum member was having his speakers done and was running into this issue? I'm curious where it stands as of now.

The thread has faded into the past but he had to remove the upgrade and go back to stock except for the subwoofer.

I don't see why it can't be a configurable option in the menu system. They have a similar option on my 2011 Mustang 5.0. There is something there for "Dynamic Volume" or some other. It means the volume increases with speed. It drove me nuts until I figured out how to turn it off.

I wonder if there is a parameter in a "tune" configuration through the engine computer.

I totally agree that the fake engine noise should be an option. I tweeted Ford Service as suggested above. Maybe a wire could be cut or a relay pulled to prevent the noise. Anybody thought about that?

As an engineer, I take offense to this!!!

Whenever I see things in the world that look pretty but add little/no functionality I tell my wife, "an architect must have designed that!"

In this case - "A designer must have made this."

Nah, as a fellow engineer, we always blame marketing!

They probably thought it would be a great idea to sell more Ecoboost motors by making them sound like V8s.

Haha, I'm an engineer that switched to our marketing department to try and prevent this type of thing...

Me too! I was an ME that ended up working in marketing. When I tried to apply rational, engineering based logic I was told to remember who I was working for! Marketing wants, engineering develops, manufacturing builds, sales sells and customer service gets hammered.
