I rigged up a holster under the driver side dash, no locks, safe or anything to slow me down if I need it fast. and only I know it's there. if someone breaks in, it's very doubtful they'd find it compared to being in the console or glove box....hidden, but easy access.

People choose to carry a pistol for many reasons. I'm CC permitted, too, but rarely do. The pistol I want to put in the console is much too large for CC, anyway. I spend a lot of time out of the vehicle in areas where varmits of various descriptions are a potential problem. Rarely are those varmits two legged. Mostly they don't have legs at all!

I like the console because it is handy and legal in my state. I want it lockable, not because I'm worried about theft, but because I have granddaughters and great nieces in my truck often! Nuff said.

Lockable box under the seat is an option, just to easy. Also saw a lockable under rear seat storage unit that could serve lots of purposes. But I was just hoping to replicate what I had before. I'm old and set in my ways.

Any details on your setup would be great. Pictures? What holster did you use? How did you attach it? Thanks

I wrapped the cable around the seat track, mine is very similar to this one:

In my previous F150 (2012 Platinum) I had a nice holster mounted to a piece of 1x material that fit snugly under the lip of the console. Provided convenient lockable and safe storage when necessary without drilling holes or otherwise disfiguring the console. My new 2015 console doesn't have the "lip". That eliminates my previous installation method as an option. Wondering if anyone has come up with an ingenious "no holes drilled" option for mounting a holster in the 2012 console.
I've actually been working on developing console holster mounts for several vehicles, including the previous gen F150. My previous F150 mount slipped into the slot on the side of the console at the bottom and between the webbing at the top/lip. It is expanded vertically and locked into place with two bolts. How exactly is the 2015 different?

I've some some that mount on the side of the console and use a Blackhawk or Target Sports (Sig) holster bolted to them. Others are developed for slide down/butt up configuration (like the 2015 Mustang which is too shallow for a muzzle-down configuration.)

I 3D Printed a false bottom for a center console for a LEO friend. That is a pretty simple option that could be made out of anything available if you don't have access to a 3D printer.

You obviously wouldn't have the quickest access time and need to check your state laws about concealed/locked/loaded/open laws etc...

For him it was more of a temporary storage location for when he was in court and certain judges had issues with weapons present regardless of who it was.
