Default Console Holster mount

I know there are several threads on the forum dealing with mounting a pistol, and I'm not trying to start any political conversations! Just wonder if there is anyone else out there who might have found a solution that will help me. In my previous F150 (2012 Platinum) I had a nice holster mounted to a piece of 1x material that fit snugly under the lip of the console. Provided convenient lockable and safe storage when necessary without drilling holes or otherwise disfiguring the console. My new 2015 console doesn't have the "lip". That eliminates my previous installation method as an option. Wondering if anyone has come up with an ingenious "no holes drilled" option for mounting a holster in the 2012 console.

I'd be interested in this as well.

Just curious, why do you want to lock the gun in the console. I know you can't always carry into some place's but if someone breaks into your truck, can't they force the console lid open.

Sure, but what else are you going to do? Its better than nothing and generally complies with the law to keep your gun locked (depending on local laws, of course). FYI, specifically illegal in California.

Ok, I get it. I have conceal carry for most states but now i see why it would be worth having. Thanks.

You still have to leave the gun in the truck when you go certain places (like the post office). May as well have it locked out of sight instead if just laying in the door pocket.

I have one of the small lockable combo safes with a steel cable and I keep that hidden in the truck when I need to lock the gun. Small, cheap, and secure.

This is what I do too. However, its not as convenient as just dropping it in the console. I've put it in the console tray occasionally, but I'm not supposed to.

Any photos Turk? What brand and what does the cable lock to?
