The ride on the Ram 1500 sport I drove was just a little bit more pleasurable, but there were a number of things that stopped me from trading in my 2005 ram 1500 for a new one.
-That **** gear selector is ugly as heck compared to a center console shifter. It appears Ford is the only one doing it now save from maybe the Tundra.
-The backseat floor still has that hump in the middle and the rear seat center recesses in rather than being a straight bench.
-Ford had more amenities for the price I wanted to spend.
-My Dodge rusted over the rear quarter panels and i've had it with rust.
-F150 redesign vs a more tired looking ram.
-Gas mileage. I wasnt doling out for a diesel and having to go out of my way to find diesel. Got the 3.5 eco.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Jersyfirefighter. I agree that shifter dial is not very manly. I also agree the Ram body design is getting a little dated, I much prefer the new Ford's design. However I was disappointed to see the Platinum version keeping that dumb looking tailgate.

For the 3.5 EB:
Great power and torque curve across the entire band.
Room for tuning more power and better mpg very very easily and cheap.
Higher tow and payload.
Better mpg then any hemi , close to the eco diesel on highway ( I get 26 mpg with my 3.5 Eco ) but without the extra $8k eco diesel premium.
Aluminum body. No rust.
Styling is subjective so I won't go there.
Edit: I also own an f250 and was all but sold on either a Hemi or Eco diesel Ram and then I drove the F150 and Rams . The result was pretty clear based on smiles per mile, the 3.5eb gives what you want based on mood, mpg or 0-60 , towing or cruising. It just won.

Maybe a little different then the ford homers but a real world comparison none the less. I'm not a ford or dodge homer, I drive what looks and performs good at the time I'm ready to purchase, just don't care for GM products. I just got out of a 09 Ram Laramie Hemi into a 2015 3.5 ECO lariat.
Here's my real world take 4000 miles in...
Looks = Ford (subjective)
Ride = Ram (fact - coil springs)
Interior Quality = Ram (fact)
Rear interior room = ford (fact)
Under seat storage = dodge (subjective) dodge has good stock storage and fold flat on top (not as big as ford) so you get the best of both worlds, I added a duha and I fit everything I had in the dodge and swing box in that thing but I lost the fold flat option
Shift location = Ford (fact)
Dry start acceleration = Ford (fact)
Passing acceleration = dodge (very close)
Daily city mpg = Ford (fact)
Slow hwy mpg = ford (fact))
Real world Fast interstate mpg = dodge (actually by a coupe mpg)
Towing mpg = dodge (fact)
Tech = ford
Truck real world use = ford (subjective, ford auto tailgate, bed lights, tie down vs ram box)
Towing performance with 5k boat = tie ,same as acceleration test, the passing gear of the Eco with a heavy load is not good compared to the Hemi but from a dry start the Eco is s beast so tie (I don't care what it's rated for, I'm never gonna max out a half ton)
Bed squat with load = ford (coil spring on dodge kills it)
Tranny shift point mapping = tie (acceleration - ford, down shift - dodge)
Build Quality = dodge (IMO) 6 years with the 09, couple recalls, few months with the ford coupe issues with door alignment, weather stripping, vibration in pedal that has not been diagnosed properly
Take it for what it's worth and what you want out of a truck. They are both well designed good trucks but to me ford is just catching up to the dodge as the current year model is getting tired, like to see when the new Rams come out. If they don't fix this vibration thing I'll own one of them.
Good luck...

Gees ford guys, Doge has a pretty dam good truck out right now. It's ok, so does ford.
I've owned 2 f150's and 2 rams before this 15 so I have some real world comparisons.

Secondly, I am NOT a Ford guy, just like my truck. I'm really a Toyota guy.
Finally, what is a Homer?

A homer, you know like defending your home town football team regardless if their garbage or not, lots of them on this forum.
So with do respect to the OP I'll end the childish bickering with a FACT, I have real world experience with both trucks and left my opinions and stated facts for his knowledge to make an informed decision.
I would by this truck again but I would have prob got the 5.0 and hope the vibration issue is isolated to the Eco or waited for the 16's to work out the bugs.
