My truck will never see a garage, or at least none of mine.. I would like auto fold for the Walmart parking lot!

First, your Sync SHOULD be up to date, especially if just manufactured, but over time you can make sure your vehicle has the latest updates by going here...
http://owner.ford.com/

Register your vehicle if you have not done so, log in and follow the Sync and Vehicle Features tab..... it will check to ensure that your VIN shows having the latest Sync..... if not, take a USB thumb drive into your paw and follow the directions for downloading latest version onto it..... insert into vehicle USB port and after about 30 mins or so it will have updated the vehicle Sync to latest. You HAVE to then return to the owner screen with the USB as the vehicle writes a "success" file onto it after update. That is how the site knows what version you supposedly have.

All of the above is pretty well spelled out on the website.....kinda...smile

LOL....gotcha....however BEWARE of the Walmartians.....they will be fascinated with the mirrors being folded in, especially if they want to use your big mirror to check their costume.....even if you park WAYYYYYY out....smile

I had a general question about how you all go about figuring out code changes....are you just comparing as built data from a different vehicle, and changing the codes to match, seeing what happens, then trying a different code from another vehicle and so on?

I'm wanting to try some things on my own, but was just curious everyone's approach.

Ideally, I'd like to try to see if the trailer light status is possible to add to the IPC on an XLT 302a, but I would imagine that functionality only resides on the 8" IPC.

Currently I'm mapping out the all the addresses of the built-in FORScan options in BCM to my as-built BCM and recording them to a spreadsheet so I know what addresses to eliminate in my search for new, unlisted options. Then I'll compare as-built data for different vehicles for things like a 2016 Explorer with 401a package that has auto power folding/unfolding side mirrors and try some things.

...and then you are going to post your spreadsheet as an attachment so we all can collaborate and not reinvent the wheel...right?
