Clunk from rear of truck
My truck has 4700 miles on it thus far. 2015 F150 Crew cab, Ecoboost, FX4 package. When I pull into my driveway (most noticeable) I can hear a "clunking" noise coming from the rear of the vehicle.
I can replicate the noise by rocking the bed by pushing back and forth on the rear tires. It feels like something is a bit loose and I can also hear the clunking sound. The spare tire is installed very tight by feeling/looking under the truck bed. I can't seem to pin a problem down. Has anyone else had this "issue?"
Thanks for any leads, tips or advice!
Regards,
Dave Harms

Same problem. I hear a clunking noise when I pull up onto uneven surfaces. I brought up that noise at the dealer and I was told its the rear axles and its perfectly normal. That noise is not normal. Next time I go back to the dealer I will make sure they thoroughly check it out. It sounds like something is about to break in the rear end.

This has been driving me nuts on mine. I have 21K on it now and still haven't been able to pin the cause of it down.
I asked the dealer to look at it on my service after I had aftermarket exhaust put on it at 18K and they blamed the new exhaust but it has done it since new. Way before my exhaust went on. They are stumped and won't look into it further. 90% of the time it occurs when backing out of my driveway or turning into a driveway on an angle. Like something is flexing.
I'll track this thread in the hopes someone can pinpoint this.

If you're experiencing the clunk noise that FordF1502015 has described, I recommend making an appointment at your dealership so they can get this document and diagnosed. I'm always happy to do what I can to help as well; shoot over your info in a PM and I'll get to work. Be sure to include your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, current mileage, and servicing dealership.

UPDATE:
I had my tires rotated today along with an oil change at Phil Long Ford here in Denver, CO. Service has assured me that the "clunk" noise coming from the rear of the vehicle is "completely normal." Apparently the two axles come into the rear end and are secured with c-clips which require a bit of space in order not to bind up.
I was skeptical at first... As the truck was getting the oil changed, I ventured out onto the dealers lot and found my exact truck and rocked back and forth to try and replicate the "clunk" sound.
It made the exact same sound...
Hopefully this helps everyone who has experienced this sound.
